Bryan, for what it's worth, I just checked for that corrosion issue on my broken block and didn't see any signs of what you have going on. Ran E85 almost exclusively.
I would have had it much sooner but I ran into issues getting parts sent his way to finish the build. I would plan on 4-6 weeks as mentioned earlier. May vary due to part availability.
Waiting on the engine and turbos to show up. Going to repaint the cage in the meantime as it was done poorly and get ready for reassembly. Shouldn't be too long.
I had evidence of QC issues before my engine let go and I just ignored them like a dummy lol
Not saying there's a correlation with my engine failure (this almost certainly had nothing to do with it) but we found that after 500 miles. It appears the PTWA may be the reason or a huge contributing...
I'll keep you posted on what I think of the MPR sleeved block. I expect great things. From my dealings so far, I highly recommend Tim and his team at MPR.
Thanks bud. Yes. I work directly with Jon Jr and the team. Hopefully the aftermarket will catch up with the 10R80 and we can start pushing even harder. Their achievements are quite impressive with the Blue Goose.
Torque absolutely played the primary role in my failure (outside of me saying "just 2 more lbs"). I'd have to confirm the log (it's with the car at the shop). I believe 20 would be the Max but that's knowing what the 10lb pull made. Could have been backed down. There was absolutely zero...
I know of several failures. Almost every brand kit, both turbo and supercharger. Boost and power levels vary with each failure. No real correlation for the failures but it seems the best theory so far is the stock block may have QC issues and cylinders have been found to be out of round. There...
Josh Stroud handled my install. I can put you in touch with him if you're interested. Here are some pics of my cage. There have been revisions since we installed this to allow for better clearance along the A-pillars and Stroud has modified the front cross bar (header) to tuck it in a little...
