Earlier today I noticed with clutch pushed in my 2018 wouldn't rev past 3k rpms or something.

I noticed the lc icon on the dash and going into track mode then track apps and launch control it's enabled.

Being this is the second time this has happened, I'm wondering if there is some short cut to turn it on... Cause it seems too hard to accidentally do without a shortcut of some form

It happens to my car occasionally too.

No idea of how it happens. I just shut it off.

Launch control doesn't kick in if you ease into the throttle. If you mash the throttle it will only go to the setpoint until you release the clutch pedal. If you ease into it, you can go all the way to redline if you want

wait so to use launch control you just push the clutch in and hammer the throttle to the floor quickly?

exactly. of course you have to go into track apps and turn it on first and it has to be warmed up. Basically once you get the LC on the cluster it's ready to.

BTW the launch control will stay on once you turn it on, so next time you start the car it will be on. The default setting is where you leave it.

Please pay closer attention. That's not what either of us are experiencing and explaining.

Sometimes it just turns on by itself. It's happened to me many times.

I understand that, I was just trying to explain how it works so if you find yourself in that situation with the LC lit up on the cluster, you can avoid it being activated.

I know you have, but has the OP gone into the track apps and turned it off?

I still don't think you understand.

It turns itself on. I (and presumably the OP) know how to turn it off, but then it will just turn itself right back on. A few dozen times I've had it turn itself on. No input from me. Just look down and there's an LC on the dashboard.

The discussion isn't about activating it once it's on, it's about stopping it from turning itself on.

At least that's what I'm talking about, and what I believe the OP is talking about.

I get that. Until you can figure out why it does it, at least now you know how to not activate it.

Off the top of my head, I would say it has to be a programming glitch. You and OP are the only two I've ever heard of that has this issue.

So the ONLY thing with this car that 'Stays On' is Launch Control?

But every other setting, you have to go through a 15 step menu hunt to turn On or Off?

I must now go play with Launch Control.

You don't have launch control, it's only on manual cars.

O.k.....gotcha.

Yeah, I don't know. At least once a month I look down, and the LC light is on.
