Hey everyone, I have a water leak that seems to only occur after rain leading to soaking wet carpet on the passenger side. I recently put rubber plugs in the A-pillar body holes and it still flooded after the next rainstorm. I have checked the passenger side cowl drain (under the battery tray) and will check the driver side one today. I have also replaced the passenger side weather strip that seals the passenger door window. I noticed some water dripping from the passenger rocker panel so I removed that but could still not find any source of the water intrusion. I haven’t noticed any water dripping from the windshield and everything seems dry in the interior apart from the passenger carpet. Any other common places for water intrusion that I should check? 2020 Gt Coupe

Check the drain(s) at the heater core. These often get clogged with debris and the rain water has nowhere to go but on the floor.

Are these the drains under the cowl cover near the wiper motor? I checked those and there was no debris. Where should I look to check these drains?

I'm getting some water intrusion somewhere as I can smell it now (started after a particularly long bout of rain). I'm watching with interest where all the drain locations are. What's a good way to clear them? Seems like varying the pressure of a jet of water would help?

I'm chiming in here to join in the conversation, though unfortunately don't have any solutions for you. I'm having the same issue in the front passenger footwell; I've checked or fixed every known problem area on these cars, but after it rains I'll have standing water on the floor and soaking the BCM. I also can't get any water to come in with a hose, only in the rain.

Passenger side front. Bottom of the firewall. Same place you typically see water dripping during hot weather when the A/C is running. There should be a drain tube you can inspect.

Also check your roof rail, where it is bonded to the window arch. Mine had a quarter inch hole that escaped Quality Control.

I am going to make a separate post for this but I ended up finding the issue after stripping out the interior and water testing. There was a leak on the passenger side of the rear window that ran down the interior of the C pillar and dripped behind the C-pillar trim. I used some window sealer from AutoZone on the exterior of the rear window and it appears to have fixed the leak. I’ll keep an eye on it over the next few months after rain. I appreciate everyone’s help in diagnosing this!

Are you talking about the door window or the 1/4 window?

If it's the 1/4 window, has it ever been removed for a body or paint repair? If so, that would be a body shop warranty issue. The glass itself is held in with urethane adhesive.

Neither the door window nor quarter window. It’s the rear glass above the trunk. Not sure if any of the glass has been out before because I only bought it about 3 months ago

OK. Bigger glass but still held in with urethane adhesive. Any glass company that does auto glass can pull it out and re-seal it. That way you shouldn't have to deal with any future corrosion.

Yeah I needed to replace it anyway since the defroster lines have gotten scraped away to the point that they don’t work. The window sealer was a temporary fix until I got that done
