I bought my 2018 GT350 a little over a week ago from a ford dealer. It has 7500 miles and is Ford Blue Advantage Gold Certified pre-owned. The dealer offered me a Ford Premium Care 4 year warranty for $2895. I called Granger Ford to see what they could do, and they said $5440 for 6 years or 75,000 miles for a Ford Premium Care warranty. It will never see 75,000 miles. I plan on tracking it two or three times a year, plus drive it on the street. Do these prices seem right to you guys? The dealer said I wouldn't need an inspection because its Ford Blue Advantage Gold Certified pre-owned, which is pretty much what they would do at and inspection for a warranty on a used car. I was told it wouldn't be available if it wasn't Ford Blue Advantage Gold Certified pre-owned. I have 30 days from the purchase date to make the decision. I would feel a lot more comfortable with a warranty beyond the one year I got with the car for the Ford Blue Advantage Gold Certified pre-owned. After reading some of the posts on warranty problems, does this sound like a good idea? Normally I don't purchase extended warranties, but with the cost of repairs on this car and the possibilities of problems I think it might make more sense. Basically it comes down to $907/year for the 6 year from Granger, and $724/year for four years from the dealer I bought it from. $5440 would go a ways towards rebuilding the engine if I had to rebuild it out of my pocket. Any input would be appreciated.
