Well I did an experiment, real simple real cheap. you most likely have everything you need laying around. 2 washers & 2 lock washers. I found a couple washers that are the same size as the OEM locknut OD that fit properly to the viking thread, installed the shock put the washer in locked it down then put the lock washer in & used the jam nut to lock it all down. It's only a small sampling of travel, but I put about 20 miles on & the ride is back & no more noise (so far)

I'll post if it changes

so I put washer on, tightened added lock washer & jam nut & tightened. had "just snug" on upper bracket, then tightened the lower bolts Then came back to the top bracket to finish tighten.

Just got back from day trip (200 miles-ish) was solid no rattling at all. hope that takes care of it.
Thanks ...I will give it a shot when I get my car back from the Dealer ..

I shipped mine back for the squeak and they received them on Friday. At that time they called and asked what was going on with them.

I let them know that they made a squeaking noise on one side when bouncing on the trunk and when off the car when compressing and decompressing by hand they made a loud squeal.

Received a call today that they had them on the dyno for quite some time and they could not duplicate the noise. I advised all they had to do was compress and decompress and they will hear it and I sent them the link to the video I shared earlier.

He said they'll keep trying to figure out what is wrong and I said okay. Let them know if they cannot resolve or find the issue then I'd like to just be refunded.

that's not true, I made an update less than 2 weeks ago

they are trying out a couple things when I talked to chris the owner today.

he has a couple sets being tested, and in addition a new rod coming in about 1 month
when Viking first sent sets out to people like Kelly@ bmr, and several others for testing. no one complained about anything. that's because more than likely, they were all drag racers, looking to get the most et out of their cars,

with et sometimes there are sacrifices to be made. same thing if they had sent me a set, I would have went out, smacked down a 1.4 60' after having previously hopped all over the place and I would have been in love, just like I always have been with their shocks, and just like I am now

so, they went into production with the shocks.

that said, now that a few people in the general public are complaining, they are looking at the design again,

like I posted 13 days ago, they now have some changes they have made, out being tested by the general public.

with the initial group being out there for months with no complaints, you aren't going to get a fix that they are going to release in a week or 2,

chris is happy to have you send the shocks in to him, and they will make the revisions they have done so far to try out.

as I posted, they are also working on a new rod, that will be a month out or so from 2 weeks ago, that they will be testing with as well.

they are a phenomenal shock, Heinz just ran a 10.1 this weekend, his 1 and only suspension mod we did on the car are the Viking shocks, still on stock halfshafts and the car is holding up.

So Terry where does it leave us guys that have the rattle ? Is Viking going to replace our shocks when the upgrade is done ? Or do we just eat them ?
