Do you experience vibration and rumbling between 50 and 70 mph?

That is super news Juben! As an Engineer I am always driving for root cause, so hearing this is music to my ears. I don't care what they end up replacing, just as long as they can do it once. Makes me wonder if I should tell my dealer about this and hold off on the driveshaft replacement for now.

With the kind of buzzing noise and the vibration definitely from the front I have also been considering the electronic steering. Maybe??
They ran the test with the vibration analyzer several times on mine and said that it repeatedly showed that it was a Type 1 Driveline vibration. Even the FSE thinks it's driveline related.

Thanks for the updates Juben,Old Ford Guy and 1st Ford, I really appreciate them.I have been driving my car a lot since the weather changed. Definitely have a vibration/rumble that starts at 55 and gets worse at 60-65 ,feels like the drive shaft? Not looking forward to the dealer trip. Would love to have an idea of what the problem is before I go. So please keep posting. Thanks,Bill
I most certainly will. I'm hoping they'll fix it and then I won't have to go back for a long, long time.

The driveshafts reduced the vibration a very minimal amount, and honestly, I don't think it was worth the time that they had it to let them do it. I'd hold off (if it was me) and see what the FSE deduces.

Thanks to all that are providing information on their individual experiences; it is greatly appreciated!

I just sent the PM below to FordService, with the hope that some type of official contact person for this issue can be established to get our SMs in the loop!!

Hey Jeff!

Regarding this thread: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15990

Does Ford have a point person that service managers can contact on this issue? I think the problem will be solved more quickly if there is a informational hub where new cases can be reported, and new information can be provided.

I would like to think that Ford is already doing this, but if it is anything like any of the companies I have worked for, nobody knows what anybody else is working on!!

It would be nice if I could go into my dealer and say "Call this guy. He knows about the problem, and will give you the latest information on the solution".

I hate the thought of countless Mustang owners having to explain this over and over to try to convince their SMs that it is a real problem, while having their cars tied up for a week as the mechanics scratch their heads and go down dead-end roads in the darkness of ignorance on the issue.

Also...what happened to Rachel? Did we wear her out???

I think Rachel moved into a different position, like marketing or similar.

Secondly, I wish mine had only been there a week. As of today, it's been 13 days so far (just on this visit).

YIKES!!! Wouldn't it have been nice to have the dealer tell you: "Yes, we know about it, we don't have a fix yet, but you can contact this guy for updates"???

icarumba and others on this thread. I am thankful for the information on this topic here. I was concerned when I picked up my V6 convertible 3/19 about this issue. I was pleased it was not present. Last week when my car was on a lift to get new mufflers installed, I snapped some pics (OK lots ;o) because this was a rare opportunity :)). I learned here of the yellow dots needing to align. Looking at my pics I said: "Hey there are those yellow dots I read about. And they do line up. Cool!" :)

Excellent news, Dave! I am very glad to hear that it is possible to have a car without this issue; I just hope the ones that do have it can be fixed.

Just curious if any ones vibration was as follows
started around 55, feeling it more at 60 goes away around 70-75. Today I hit 85 and the car was shaking pretty violently.
I took it to the dealer with 3xx miles on it for the shake and they told me the techs couldn't find anything wrong and said its nothing. Took the car home and now at 8xx miles I happened to hit 85 and the car was shaking pretty badly. Feel it in the steering wheel and seat. Called dealer and setup a apt to drop back off.

Yeah, for the most part, that's pretty similar. Did you read through any of the older posts on this thread? I've described in detail what mine is doing a few times now, lol. Ford has an engineer at the dealership assessing mine right now.

BV600....Waiting for the correct length shaft, they are constructing it today so expect by end of week. I think I had mine up to 85 once and did not notice a shake...did not wish to tempt fate....seemed like after 70 not as noticeable. I am keeping fingers crossed the DSS will correct the issue even if it is pinion angle or something else in driveline as the single shaft should be more stable and able to adapt without the center support and extra knuckle. The center support bearing rubber mount seems very flimsy. But then there apparently are many if not most Mustangs out there with no problems so go figure!!

Update: I just spoke with the SM and he said that Ford is sending them a whole new differential for the car. Another FSE had ran into the same problem in Texas, and after conversing with engineers in Dearborn and that FSE, they decided to replace the entire unit. It's being shipped out today, so hopefully it'll be ready by the end of the week. I have my fingers crossed that this will fix it once and for all.

Hey BV600,

Did you decide if you were going to wait on going back to the dealer, or try to get it in now before changing locations?

I truly hope this cures the issue on the car. The other day my wife mentioned that the vibration was annoying. This from the woman that call me crazy for calling out ANY dash rattles or tire vibrations in the car because she never notices them. I have to drive her car every couple of weeks just to make sure nothing is going wrong because she just does not pay attention to it.
