Sorry to hear you guys are not having any luck with this. The only thing I can suggest is to push the technician to put the car through an NVH analyzer to verify the problem and then have them replace the driveshaft. It's also important that they rebalance it as well as a final test drive to make sure it's fixed.

I am still waiting for a response from Ford on what they want to do with mine as they blamed it on a bent wheel and now thats not the issue I have been put on hold.

I have the paperwork filled out. Just waiting to see what they have to say as they have had the car for a total of over 7 weeks so far. One time alone was over a month

I took the car back. They balanced all 4 tires, said 2 of them was off.
Drove it on the freeway up and down for about 15 minutes. i THINK its resolved. took 1 week to balance some tires lol

EDIT:
Noise is still there. Its diminished though. What i was seeing in the noise analyzer app of 52hz is now gone. Its at 47hz @70-78. Still there, just not as loud.

I cant imagine going back to the dealer. They scratched it in the back too.

well my car has been at dealer since Wednesday morning. They said they feel the vibration but are waiting on ford to respond as to what to do with it. (Even though they have the SSM i gave them) I guess its good they aren't just throwing parts at it... The f150 rental makes me miss the mustang even more.

FYI. Report this as a vibration and not a "sound". Reported to two dealers as a noise which both said they didn't hear (though i did)

It doesn't appear that they intend to TSB this issue. They are still addressing this on a customer by customer basis. I guess until this runs into 2018 models and on and gets more popular in the customer communities this is going to be standard procedure. If its borderline and you go in with no data probably going to get the run around with tire balancing etc. My driveshaft balance did the trick so I bet a lot depends on the abilities and integrity at each dealership. Ex. small town where they sell 2 mustangs a year, more times than not probably aren't going to find the caliber of tech who has experience to correctly balance a drive shaft or wont take enough test drives and samples to get it right. :tsk:

Yeah, i took it to a busy dealership that handles a ton of cars. IN fact this is the 3rd dealership. All of them drive it say "nope i dont see a issue" and that is that. But it Needs to go n a NVH analyzer. You wont notice it from a 20 min drive, and im tired of having people driving my car to say the same thing.

Im going to talk to BMR tech a little more and get his input. Then im either going to a drive line shop and have them t-shoot it out n fix it. Or im having my lawyer write Ford a letter. Im done playin. I love this car aside from that issue. This gets resolved im happy. But im done with the BS.

Just wanted to chime into this thread.

I recently purchased a 2016 GT that has his issue, but I feel that it's no where near as bad as others in this thread have described. I took it to a local dealership and they immediately found the TSB and put in a new driveshaft based on the "updated" part number no questions asked.

Since then I've noticed that before the vibration would be its worst at around 71 mph. Now with the new drive shaft it's pretty smooth up until about 70mph, but it's just as bad as it was at 71 mph only now at 75 mph now. Once I hit around 80 mph the car smooths right back out. If I let off the gas, however, as I coast down the vibration is oddly really significant all the way down to 50 mph. It does not do this during acceleration or normal cruise control coasting.

I took it back to my dealer, and the shop foreman rode around with me. He said he could defiantly feel something was off and wants to hold onto the car for a while. They gave me a loaner, so he can further diagnose it.
This has been my journey so far. My dealer has been nothing but helpful, and I hope that they can figure this issue out.

Mine too. Indexing the driveshaft 180* helped a lot, but it still has a mild vibration around 55mph. Before indexing it was shaking so bad between 60-75mph that the rear view mirror looked blurry.

Update:

Mine has been and still is with my Ford Service center since 08/15... My Service Center has been nothing but great with their updates, tech and customer service. They are working with Ford's Engineering Team, from what I have been told.

What I know:
SSM46767 has been applied to my vehicle. Vibration analyzer tool has been used extensively. Many hours are being spent on the overall R&R and diagnosis process. The Service Tech is going through everything on the vehicle per Ford's Engineering Team instructions; everything is being documented and all data is being logged between Ford Service Center, Ford Engineering and Ford Corporate.

And here's my quandary; what I'm experiencing is noticeable, but mild, and the dealer and can make it worse...

The dealership sent me a survey after they replaced and balanced the tires and asked if the problem was fixed and I responded in the negative. This was 3 weeks ago and I've not heard anything else from them.

They told me that I had a wheel out of round that way causing the problem which I knew was bs but I took the wheels and had then checked and rebalanced etc and the vibration was still there. This has been going on since the end of June for me and the service manager told me Ford has just told them to start replacing parts again so it sounds like a fix has not been found to me.
You need to stay on their ass about this as I have a feeling Ford just hopes people will just give up and accept the car as being that way especially if the vibration is mild but I refuse to do that as I know this will prematurely wear out other parts that I will be paying to replace after my warranty expires.

My dealer just called me today. They told me that they found out the drive shaft they just replaced about three weeks ago, with the updated part # as part of the SSM, is bent. They ordered me in a new one, and it will not be here until Monday.

They also said some of my tires have abnormal wear on them, and they are working with GoodYear to get them replaced under warranty as well.

They said they'll call me back tomorrow with more info on the tires. I'm hoping to have the car back some time next week.
