I checked the torque on my lugs (thank you, Enzo!), and found that the FSE apparently was not aware of the new torque spec (as well as 4 other dealers I called). I retorqued all lugs to 150, but still have the vibration.

Here are the results of the torque checks on the lug nuts:
Tire Lug 1 Lug 2 Lug 3 Lug 4 Lug 5
RF 75 100 110 85 9-
RR 100 100 80 85 100
LR 120 70 50 70 85
LF <50 65 95 95 110
Dang ... those were all over the place. I'm surprised re-torquing to 150 ft-lbs on all lugs it didn't help the vibration at all.

I've noticed a vibration in my car, but it only happens when coasting in gear (engine braking, manual trans) and only between 2000 and 2500 rpm. it gets more noticeable the higher the gear, so in 6th its about the speeds mentioned above. It also was present before and after I switched to winter tires this year, so I don't think it's wheel balance.
right now I'm suspicious of the dual mass flywheel. But vibrations are always a difficult thing to diagnose.

The dual mass on my v6 broke....they put a new one in and man, its so much smoother. I still have a real light vibe at 75, but its not bothersome at all. Goes away above and below 75

Wow, that is terrible. Was there weird vibration upon braking?
No vibration braking -- just the "usual" 58-72 mph vibration.

So was I. I have my fingers crossed that the dealer will find something, but am also equally hopeful I hear back from the BBB.

yea its just annoying for me because it's consistent enough that I can expect it , and coming off the highway it almost always shows itself as I slow down. But the one time I took it to the dealer we couldn't get it to do it. partly because traffic in the morning is heavy and the roads are terrible and mask it. Going to try again this weekend, as it's gotten worse since then.

A TSB is not a majic bullet either. My CR-V has a vibration from the engine/ CVT combo resonating in this chassis (not a problem on the Accord) and they did all kinds of fixes, most don't work. But it's just a low idle shake at stoplights, driving on the highway is fine for me, on the Honda. On the Mustang, highway driving is not fine, so it's a real problem. Waiting on my driveshaft to come in. Hopeful. It has worked for some, not for others, but there is a visible wobble on my driveshaft, so that part is bad for sure.

maybe not but it seems apparent that there is a relation to either poor drive shaft manufacturing or some flange tolerances.

when a member on here complains about this, Ford should send 1-2 engineers to meet at the dealer and diagnose the problem to resolution. also if its that rampant of a problem they should be able to start pulling new ones off the lot into service bays and start looking for a commonality.

then create a TSB, update the part manufacturers. also while they're at it they could recommend painting or weathercoating the driveline pieces so they dont surface rust, as for some reason that was originally overlooked as well.

How do you know this I mean do you have facts showing how many cars are effected? There may never be TSB just case by case fix. Why because each car is slightly different in the problem. MAYBE they're collecting more data to get what is going on if there related or just part issue that are different on each car. WE have no clue how many are having a problem unless you go off internet which mean 1 person has issue = 100 people

There not going to pull each new car and check unless there's recall that stops sell of the vehicle. Why do you think rust of driveshaft a issue? They haven't painted them for years beside rust coating protect it. Paint or undercoating (LOL) traps water under it causes big rust spot that eats through it.

BTW mine has slight and drone too. Part of mine was front wheels because wheel weight came off

Just started reading some of the post and wanted to know if this problem is still noticeable when the car is taken out of gear?

Yes, all vibrating parts are still spinning. If not, then it's something else. Hoping to see some more happy resolutions here, waiting on my new driveshaft to come in, mine is visibly wobbling on the stand when running. If this isn't fixed it will be my last Ford and I'll go back to Japanese cars. Loving my Mustang though and glad to buy American, just don't burn me again, Ford. I'm forgiving, very forgiving. I'm letting the cosmetic issues slide.

well i think it affects a large number of users because of the poll on this thread, and the fact that my car also has the same problem.

just the same as the back left quarter panel not lining up, the hood not lining up, etc.

its poor manufacturer tolerances and design.

if it wasnt, we wouldnt have this thread.

378 in total wow that's small number compared to total production run of 2015 Mustang and 2016 still in production. You're over thinking it by a lot it's big number because your car having a issue.

Est of 2015 production run 150,000 now 378 very small %.
