Very informative, thank you! I had this CAI installed on mine by the dealership when I bought it new.

I see you have also colour coded your breather text (mine is lime) :like:

Just check your strut brace - I think it’s some nuts missing ?

He doesn't have the cowl brace so maybe that is by design? @Steeda Tech JohnC ? Any gaps under the brace may need some washers. I have seen the strut studs get snapped off trying to torque the nuts on.

Noise reduction, a bit of prettying up—same as the engine cover on the '18+. Anyone who comments about it being fire retardant—while that'd be nice, is also very false. (Seriously—it feels lije it's made of compressed cardboard and cheesecloth. How'd that rumor start???)
It's probably the same material. It at least FEELS cardboardy.

The claim I usually see is that, in the event of an engine fire it'll fall down and smother flames which... no. No it will not.
Keep in mind this is coming from someone with an aftermarket fiberglass hood with the insulator not being used, but these statements are not true.

It will indeed suppress small fires in the engine bay. Quite messy when it falls and covers parts of your engine, but better than a toasted Mustang. Granted, if it's a large fire, it may not be effective, but for small fires they do work.

I personally saw this multiple times over my 20 years in the auto insurance industry as a field adjuster.

I think there is already some sort of spacer underneath it - check how high the locknuts are on the threads (I don’t think they are actually acting as locknuts).

I have previously seen questions on the spacers / nuts when using that brace - but I can’t remember the responses … lol

Yes, thanks. I hadn’t finished the installation at the time I took that photo! 😉
