900-1000hp.... BOOM!
Doubtful. Unless the tuning is old school and the tuner doesn’t know how to program beyond air/fuel and timing.

1100 and up, who knows.

But I’m guessing the DCT will handle 1000 without significant issue.

as it is, the engine is going to touch those numbers routinely as owners settle in to their new cars and start to mod. Ford knew this.

this isn’t a first gen GTR. there has been plenty for the factory to learn from as others have done much trial and error for them.

If any transmission manufacturer can build a tank for a transmission its Tremec. Lets hope they did just that!

Ford settled on a design that they would warranty. Anything more and they were not comfortable with I bet. Will it work? Maybe. I thought I saw that the DCT is going to be the bottleneck in a lot more HP and torque.

highly unlikely. They're heavily managing the GT500's torque output to not destroy the trans. They probably should have made it a 6 speed (5?) to better withstand high output. It's not like the engine doesn't have a huge RPM range of usable torque.

I like to disassemble things.
They'd be "heavily managing" a manual transmission as well so it would shift at all under duress.

The price of the gt500 soaks up the cost.
I’m comfortable with the idea that they built in the mod factor.

the 500 has an engine that, as ridiculously powerful as it is, is begging for the shackles to be loosened a bit.

the smart money would be on NOT hamstringing it with a weak tranny.

the fact that all 500s ship with the DCT means economy of scale is in favor of this point as well.

of course, these are just thoughts. We will find out shortly.

But if Bughatti could do it 15 years ago...
