Any suggestions other than getting a hitch for transporting my mountain bike?

I've seen the seasucker mounts but they kind of make me sketch

The Saris rack fits most cars and easily clears spoilers and such. The bad part is the rack depends on resting the weight on the bumper or some other flat spot, so you will eventually scratch that surface. That's why I installed a hitch.

I can fit my full suspension Santa Cruz Tall Boy in with just the front tire removed and have been doing it for 8+ years every weekend to the trailhead.. no need for external and still can go fast!

Wait, you are able to fit it into the trunk?!

I didn't even try cause I thought it would never fit even with the wheels removed lol

I understand the reluctance to install a hitch but if I have to use my Mustang for bike duty it will be a Drawtite hitch with 1UpUSA rack.

Yep, slides right in rear tire first. People are amazed when they see me pull it out at the trail.. like , what!?

That's a GREAT idea. I know there is a heck of a lot of room in the trunk with the rear seats folded down but I'd have never thought to try to get my mountain bike in there with relatively small trunk opening.

Not much chance of it getting stolen either which is a huge concern these days with the outrageous cost of a quality mountain bike.

I'm biased...

Besides, do you really want to have your dirty bike hanging over your paint? Plus, hitch helps with front/rear weight distribution lol

Some PPF helps in this regard.

There was a dude with the roof mount on his GT500. It looked pretty awesome, NGL. I thought he posted it here, might try a search.

A friend has those suction mounts for another car, and he's never had any issues. I'd go that route if I were you only to save weight.

Trunk.

But if you get your bike dirty, then maybe not.

I just lay a tarp out. My bike was a muddy mess last week, no issues other that some tire marks on back seat.lol

Just tried to fit my 29 stumpjumper in the trunk, I was able to make it fit by putting the front end first, had the handle bars between my front seats and the back wheel just barely clears the trunk. Thanks for the suggestion on trying it in the trunk I would have never even tried.

Never tried that direction. cool!
I have a JL Audio Sub velcro'd down behind rear passanger seat so my trunk is a little different. My handle bars tuck in the rear passanger corner of the trunk really nice after it's in
