Looks like the bolt was cross threaded. Well, if it doesn't fit, just turn it harder......

Whenever I put a screw or bolt in, I turn it the opposite way until I hear the threads line up, then I go in forward. You will never cross thread a fastener if you do that.

This.

My Dad taught me this as a kid. Wait for the click, and thread away.

Definitely looks to have been cross threaded.

That in my book is a new transmission. I would not settle for a heli-coil coil. No way Jose.
Why not Tom? I am sure it would last just up to after your warranty expires and the tranny dumps all the fluid out at speed and the car catches on fire.
Insert sarcasm here.

Yeah they owe you new equipment. These cars are way too expensive and premium to have anything but restoring it to how it's supposed to be upon purchase.

I started to read your sentence and thought you were serious. You made me laugh, but poor John. Nobody deserves this crap.

It is no bueno for sure. Hate to see that happen to Big John and his brand new car. Hopefully when mine arrives in the coming weeks, I will not have the issues y'all have.

Man I don't know what world you guys are living in but you are going to a get a heli-coil (if needed) top up the fluids, little diagnostic check and likely a quick run around the block to make sure it works as it should. Not saying i agree with it but thats likely the outcome........

Not being argumentative, but I live in the world where if I spent well over $100,000 for a car, there would be no band-aids. Ford screwed it up by cross threading a major bolt holding on a fluid line fitting that fell off due to neglect and workmanship defects. The result is a loss of most (if not all) the fluid. There is no way that transmission is OK. There is no way that I would accept a band-aid on a component that (I believe) is a $30K replacement.
