...back ordered until mid December? I guess that's why mine still hasn't arrived...

Relieved to hear some resolution on the tranny, John.
Thank you, me too. If I remember correctly, it’s back ordered until the 12th.

Guess I didn't click, "Post Reply" the other day when you made the announcement, John. Dang computers, but it was waiting for me when I came back. :-) Here's the post I MEANT to send..

--------

Hot DAMN that's good news, John! I never thought they'd pull it off that quickly. Tremec must have stepped up to the plate. DO hope the rest of the ordeal goes smoothly and if you get a spare splitter out of it, well, that's just good karma I figure.

Tom: I second the eye deer.. buy it if they won't give it away. Me thinks Mother Ford may be the determining factor though.

SOW, since I sold the other car, I saw that I have a no longer needed set of SLIP LO widgets if someone wants to save a couple bones. PM me.

KB, thanks for the kind words. It’s definitely happening a lot quicker and easier than I expected.

BTW, I will take the SLIP LO’s off your hands. Got to get the kids off to school, then I’ll send a DM.

This happened to me with my first GT350. They didn't install the splitter correctly and under high speed, it pulled itself down and scraped the street lightly.

I met with the service manager and had to tell my story. I dont think he believed me, but they ordered a new splitter on the dealerships dime because they said Ford wouldn't warranty it.

When it arrived, I asked if i could keep the old one. No was the answer. I askes if I could buy it. IIRC we settled on half the cost of a new splitter. Sold!

I never installed the second splitter. It was there in case i ever scraped or damaged the original one.

Ok, great news, I got my car back from the dealer late Wednesday! I took her to Thanksgiving and went on several spirited drives with the family. Happy to report she is running perfectly.

My senior technician, Charlie took great care of the car. He said he went ahead and successfully helicoiled the connection and felt the transmission was not harmed. However, the service manager and general manager went ahead and pushed Ford for the full replacement. Surprisingly, Ford approved the replacement with little pushback.

Attached are pictures of the old transmission crated and all the labels. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see it before it was crated. Charlie told me the dealer cost for the transmission was 27k without labor. He said he took his time replacing the transmission. He spent more than 9 hours on it. He also supervised his helper on the cleaning of the undercarriage.

I can’t say enough good things about James Hodge Ford in Muskogee Ok. They kept my car in the shop on a lift the entire time it was there. Only drove it 1 mile testing the new transmission. It was handled with the respect and care it deserves.

Read the whole story, sucks to hear but glad you found a dealer to make it right for you.

What dealer in LR did you buy your car? Got mine from Mark McLarty in North Little Rock.

Also like the trailer setup, 24 ft with winch?

Also got my car from Mark McLarty Ford. I’m the guy that took delivery during hurricane Laura. Great dealership.

Yes the trailer is a 24 with a winch, air bags and air ride. It’s a fantastic trailer for non-enclosed.

John: Hope you're well first of all. Secondly, while talking with the ASM at my dealer, he mentioned another '20 500 came in with a failed transmission. Unfortunately, he didn't know the details of the failure but it sure wouldn't surprise me if it was a repeat of yours.

Re-read the great story again. Thankfully, there are still decent, hard-working people in this world who GAS about customer satisfaction.

Glad it’s all good to go.
$27k dealer cost on the tranny. I’m thinking I need to buy an extended warranty.

KB, it’s great to hear from you. I am certainly glad there hasn’t been very many transmission problems like mine. My car has been running top notch since the repair. Unfortunately, there haven’t been very many days I have been able to drive her because of weather.

James Hodge Ford took great care of me. My next purchase (likely a Bronco) will go to them. Great service should be rewarded with our business.

Last Sunday, we finally had some decent weather so I decided to go for a drive. After a short 15 minute drive, I encountered a major problem.

While stopped at a light, I looked up to see a massive white cloud in the rear view mirror. I was instantly worried and checked for a dummy light. Nothing popped up yet.

Light went green and I proceeded. Well, the cloud got a lot bigger and followed me. Then all the dummy lights came on. I found the first safe turn off and got off the road.

I found a long trail of what I assumed was oil. Looked under the car to find a massive leak. Then called the wrecker.

Today, I was able to get it on a lift at work and was able to find the problem. A tranny line lost its bolt and it puked out all of it’s fluid. Line also looks pinched/dinged from when the bolt launched off.

Needless to say, I’m not touching this issue. My girl is off to a stealership for repair. Everyone might want to check their lines for loose bolts.

On a side note, while waiting for the wrecker, a matching GT500 pulled up and I made a new friend. A gentleman living just 2 short miles from me as a matching CFTP FPB with painted OTT stripes. Only had his for 4 days. What a small world.

I’ll keep you posted on how Ford takes care of this issue.

For real on the warranty. I wonder if $27k is due to the newness of the trans?
