The pans are not an issue.

According to CJ pony parts they won’t work with jacking rails or steeda IRS brace. If true that a huge negative trade off.

How does it not interfere with the front and rear belly pans?
It does not because the tie down loops protrude down just an inch or so and that is enough to have enough clearance for the strap to stretch from the loop to the D-ring on the bed of the trailer with no interference. I don't know what else to say. There was no issue all.

This has to be true -- they will not work with jacking rails because the jacking rails would use the same holes as the tie down kit loops. If that's a deal-breaker for you, then for sure you wouldn't want to go that route. I personally made the opposite decision that the tie down points were more valuable to me than jacking rails.

If you look at the crappy under car shots I posted in the other thread it shows the fronts mounted under my jacking rails. All it takes is to heat & flatten, then mark and rebend.

They will not - and while the rails aren't really that important, brace makes some sense - I've installed ZL1 addons rear tie downs instead of FP ones after installing the brace. I think Steeda also has a tie down kit using different locations.

I use the Steeda tie down kit. It does not interfere with jacking rails

For a manual transmission, do you haul with it in gear or neutral?
If in gear do use the 1:1 gear? i.e. my MT-82 would be 5th gear.

I’m going to use Macs wheel lassos on the 4 corners. Cannot imagine leaving it in neutral, planning on 1st gear with parking brake set.

Neutral, always. Do you want that small movement of your car on a trailer result in movement of internal engine parts while it is not being actively lubricated ?

I wouldn't worry, it will roll off the back of the trailer before it's taken up all the mustang driveline slop and started to apply torque to the engine ... :giggle:

I know and if anything - it would be very minor - but still - why would anyone do it ?

It's a split decision! :)
I'm a little paranoid because one time I hauled a dune buggy with a Corvair engine and VW transaxle in gear and it bent the forks in the transmission and it never worked right after that.
Still on the fence. 🤷‍♂️
