Haven t been here in a while but I may be back. Thinking about transporting if I buy something. Don t want to ship or buy unseen car so.... I have a new Ram 1500 so does u haul have a trailer that a mustang will fit on correctly. If I get lucky maybe I can find a local car but planning for finding a car out of the area. Thanks.

My ex-wife had a 2012 4x4 crew cab sport with a 5.7 Hemi and it was rated to tow 10,900lbs. I towed our 9,800lb camper with it and it did a reasonable job. According to the site I'll link below, the u-haul car trailer empty weighs about 2,200lbs depending on model. So you should be around 6,500 lbs or less with a Mustang in tow. You should be alright.

Edit: forgot the link..

The above was a 2004 Ford V-10 6.8L tow truck. And only used to haul heavy loaded trailers, appliances and color TV's. :)

It fits on Uhaul auto transport. Like @WItoTX said you will need boards for the splitter to clear and to get up the ramp. I would suggest borrowing or buying straps because the ones on the trailer may come loose. I bought straps with the ford performance tie down kit. Works great.

there are a few videos on YouTube that show how to load a Mustang.

I used a uhaul one time. It messed up my splitter, and I bought a trailer after that. 😂

I say Road Atlanta is a great track. It doesn't matter how you got there. You must know the race line. It forgives most mistakes except T-12. You miss it and your car will hit the tire wall and bounce out into race traffic. Not good.

Lol. I would be lying if I said I didn’t look on Facebook marketplace for trailers after the road Atlanta trip. Living in an apartment and engine rebuild is keeping the temptation away 🙃

How do you do it without a garage?

My garage here has blue and red paint stains on the floor from car wrecks (their fault) and repainted here. I always parked my big trailer at a friend's place or at a local RV lot.

I remember destroying a transmission at Watkins Glen with no spare. Some racers helped me push the car in the trailer after the track towed me to my trailer. I bought a spare transmission and then no more issues.
