Glad I didn't roll with a black one. My magnetic is nice, but I'm pretty jealous of the guys that have triple yellow here. That and some black wheels always looks nice to me.
And your very nice sig photo and mod list makes me assume you are rich yacht club dude (kudos). :)

OP, a long shot might be to see if someone else wants black and will trade cars with you.

I like the idea that even a 3-year wrap protects that black paint for resale. At that time the refresh model will be out, which you might really want. At least you would have gotten 1) 3 years in your car, 2) a new color, and 3) a perfect black paint job to pawn off on (er, I mean "reward") the next guy.

Haha. Not rich at all man! I work in infosec and it just happens to be an extremely well paying career, lol. Plus, I'm single with no kids.

Steeeliskt,

Closer to 4K is true...$3,888 to be exact but the dealer I intend to trade with did agree to 2 free details and 2 free synthetic oil changes, so maybe all of that may add up to $388, which would make the negative equity $3500. But, yes still cheaper than a top quality paint job. I looked at getting a C. Quartz detail, to seal the paint. The cost is about $1600ish. I Just decided I would rather pay the extra and get a color I wanted, rather than spend $1600ish and still have a black car.
I'm just gonna suck it up and deal with it. I really do enjoy the black. If you are in a position to eat the cost, go for it. I could, but I am trying to be more responsible these days. If I absolutely hated black, I would make the trade in a heartbeat.

did you pay msrp minus the rebate? if so, your probably 5kish upside down +/-2k if you put nothing down.
Rolled over $1,000 from previous loan so that cancelled out rebate. Got dealer to come $2,500 under MSRP + my FRPP Sport Exhaust cost which was another $1,300 or so. I would swap the stock exhaust back in before trading in if I was really going to make the switch so I could probably get away with a trade and not lose too bad, but it would definitely be thousands of dollars.

Trade would be interesting but that would be so hard to find and probably even harder to work out with financing companies.

This is true, but I feel confident if I was going to switch cars in 3 years, I could keep the paint looking good enough to still get a nice value for it. I plan on keeping this vehicle for as long as possible. I'm gonna leave it black.

best thing I did was trade my Black 13 for White 15. White is so easy to keep clean.

Race Red.... Easy to keep clean and always looks like she's ready for business. Unfortunately, it also attracts the men in blue. LOL
