I made a previous post about winter tires for 700whp setup, will update with a link. ( https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...any-tires-that-can-handle-roll-racing.192091/ ) In that thread, I reported about going to Michelin AS4 in 315/35/20 and I could hook 3rd gear with AdvanceTrac OFF even in 30 degree weather.
I just put those AS4s back on as we are hitting 40s at night, and I can no longer hold 3rd gear anymore.
Temps are mid 60s, tires all inflated to 30psi (as they were before when all was well, but I checked and made sure)
Tires were stored INDOORS, mounted on rims, inflated about 30psi, stacked on top of eachother, each wheel in a big plastic bag and duct taped closed, and then one big plastic bag wrapping all 4 wheels.
I lightly cleaned each wheel and tire before storing them.
They were only stored from mid May to about mid October.
I don't get what I'm doing wrong here. If the tires were just fine immediately before putting them into storage, why am I running into issues now?
The only thing that has changed is I swapped from Lund to Wengerd tune (we slightly bumped MBT so timing comes on quicker), or potentially something about it being autumn has the roads being less grippy. But I don't want to get farfetched here.
I know I can just buy 2 new rear tires and all will be well, but I'm about to store my PS4S and don't feel like running into this issue again!
Also should point out that when I pulled the tires out of storage they did not feel dried out whatsoever. Not to say they felt wet, just not dried out. Like healthy rubber i guess I'd say.
