Hi guys,

Question-> Has anyone had any issues with there heads lifting after Roush S.C. installation? And if they had, was engine covered under under roush or ford warranty?
I wanna make sure before I pull the trigger, dont need any headaches.

Thanks Anthony

I don’t think those things produce enough power to lift the heads.

the 18+ Roush is garbage compared to the version before. The redesign because of the DI system wasn’t a good one.
Really?!?! I have a 2021 GT, looking to slap a roush on from dealer. So your saying, a No-Go on it? Whatcha think via Whipple?
Thanks Anthony

Daily driver, weekend warrior, def not a track car, not looking to break land speed records. Just have some fun on street, light to light, possibly run high 10s.

Heads won’t lift under 20psi in general unless there’s a ton of detonation present......

I have seen cracked piston ring lands with some kits but never a lifted head. Unless you pulley down or advance the timing to the moon, you will have no issues with the Roush kit.

I would research the Roush blowers. Lund won’t even tune them because the cooling design is so poor. Roush for 2018+ is the last choice you should be having.

Lol.....so you have experience with Roush blowers? Does Lund know more about tuning than Ford Performance/Roush? Are you sure the reason Lund won't tune them is due to heat? Are PBD, VMP and others inferior because they will tune Roush?

If you get a Roush SC make sure its a phase 2 as it has the bigger radiator otherwise your short blasts will be very very short, even with the bigger radiator you wont be able to have more than 2 or 3 street races before heat soak impacts your performance. When I had my 2020 GT Premium I wanted a Roush system but after reading multiple articles and experiences these deficiencies when riding someone's Roush car. I have now opted to get a Whipple for my 2021 and do the cylinder 8 mod. Like the poster above said some tuners wont provide a tune or if they do it will be very conservative which it wont be very fun.

I don't think that what he meant. The Roush tune is very conservative compared to others and its know that they have poor cooling qualities. Some tuners just dont mind sending you a tune but at what price? Other tunes just don't want to deal with customer's coming back saying that their car feels sluggish after a few pass. But just because something was designed by engineers it doesn't mean it doesn't have deficiencies that will make the product inferior to others.

Roush hating is pretty common with folks who just repeat what another Roush hater says without any real first hand knowledge.

Roush deserves some criticism. The design has some flaws. Their early 2018+ phase 1 kit was especially poor. However, they kept updating the tune and started using a bit larger HE. Phase 2 was an improvement and there has been 2 tune revisions since it was introduced. The latest calibration is excellent.

I would not recommend Roush for those who want the ultimate in power, those who continually want more, or those who race on a regular basis in hot climates.

The current Roush kit with the Roush tune offers perfect drivability, easy and consistent high 10 second ETs, no additional NVH, excellent reliability, excellent service from Roush or Ford Performance dealers and a powertrain warranty. That is a good combination for many customers.

The heat issue is extremely exaggerated. I have raced in temps up to the 80s. At that temp or below, when you pick up your timeslip, the iat2 will be lower than it was at the starting line. I have run back to back and my last run is always the best. My 60 sucks but that is my fault...not the car. Lol.

Not everyone has the same goals. The Roush is a solid choice for many people.
