I knew gap would cover mine if it went that far but then you loose whatever you put down and have to come out of pocket again.
Gotcha don't guess I ever thought about it that way. Was just glad I didn't owe money on a totaled vehicle

Man, seeing those photos hurt me right in the feels. Looks so much like my ride, the empathy is strong. Great no injuries, :( on the whip. Good on you for being realistic and recognizing what ACV is.

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice. I do not have the gap but in the future I will. Everyone is safe and sound physically however I think it will take me awhile mentally to get past this. Adjuster is supposed to call me today, I will keep everyone posted on how it goes. Thanks again.

If your insurance company is any good at all you should get close to new value.

That was mine.

If you have a good insurance company you should be OK. It also depends on what your limits are. I had Geico and got full value back. I had the car for two months with 2000 miles on it. The big question is the property damage that the pole is going to cost I'm not sure what your limits are or if you damaged the pole at all. State minimums everywhere are really too low.

Also if you want anything off the car make sure and do it before it gets auctioned off. My adjuster totaled mine and I was able to run to the salvage yard and grab my aftermarket wheels off and swap them out before it was sold off.

Just two months of depression but it all worked out here's my new one.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I think it really depends on your insurance company. Unfortunately I was in this same situation. Ordered my car, waited for an extremely long 4 months, drove it for a month and totaled it with 1500 miles. My insurance company gave me what I paid for it minus deductible. They allowed me to keep it for a week after the accident to remove all my aftermarket parts. So there are some decent companies out there .Now impatiently waiting for the 16 to show up. I hope everything works out for you!

If it was Bullit guard green you'd be fine. Made for jumping bridges.

Glad you're safe. A lesson to live by.
