I'll second (or third?) a PP1 A10 GT with desired options. Highly suggest MagneRide and Safe and Smart package, and Premium level. If you're not tracking it, you probably won't notice the benefits of the GT350. The 5.0 makes plenty of power, esp in the A10 configuration- the gearing really gets it to the ground really well.

I personally would not but a Challenger. Too large and I also agree that Chrysler products are low quality.

My left knee made the decision about the Shelby & Bullitt for me. Even if I could the Bullitt is still way overpriced vs a GT. Unless its history really means something to you or you really love the color a well equipped GT would serve the bill for a lot less cash. Mine is a street cruiser so I went with looks (GT/CS) over performance (PP1/2). The Shelby is, well a Shelby. if it calls you, nothing else matters, go for it. No real knowledge of the Roush, but 460HP is more than enough for me.
What do you measure "way over priced" by? My BULLITT was less than 2.5k more than a simliar spec GT and I got a unique color, exhaust sound, wheels, front bumper, car cover and intake system. A GT350 intake swap + retune by itself would be over 1k. People have spent more than that just to make a Guard Green GT look more like a BULLITT. I'm not even a huge fan of the movie, but the look of the car alone was EASILY worth it to me.

Can you get a GT that may meet your needs/wants for less? Sure, but when spec'd similarly it's not a bad buy at all.

I've decided to do it. Saved my pennies and saved my dimes but not to buy a 409. My list in no particular order is:
2018 Roush Jackhammer (warranty ? from Ford ?)
2018 Shelby GT350 (oil usage ?)
2019 Bullitt (am I buying name and badges ?)
or: order a 2019 GT premium with automatic, 3:55 gear, exhaust mode, and 19" tires forgoing PP1 or 2.
I realize a GT is far off from the above 3.
No tracking or racing just want a performance car.
Value your thoughts before I decide.
After reading your responses, I checked out at the local Ford Dealer, the following car. Mustang GT (not premium). With the following options: 301A (gives me Sirrus Radio) automatic, GT Performance Pack 1, active valve exhaust, 19" nickel luster wheels, and voice activated nav for 39K and change.

I totally agree that when you spec a GT with everything the Bullitt has the MSRP difference is actually very little if any at all. That said when you take into account dealer discounts, rebates, and financing the differences can be substancial. The 0%/72 I was able to get on my GT/CS was not available on the Bullitt. I love the Bullitt and was severely disappointed when I saw it was manual only. I understand why, of course, but it is a shame. If the OP can get a deal on a Bullitt and it is what he wants, then he should go for it.

By the way I love my GT/CS but this is on my home office wall. :crying:

That's a nice car.

If you find PP1 ride to be a bit too stiff for your liking but enjoy the handling, look for one with MagneRide, which makes it very nice. It is, however, very hard to find a MR car on a lot, and when you do, it may well be optioned to the hilt.

I was with you until you said you didn't like the movie. Shame on you.
I like the chase, just not the rest of the movie, its pretty dull.

Hope this helps you decide.
I drove the Shelby 350R and was not impressed.
The GT is just a GT
I had a Saleen PJ Boss 302 and it was a lot of fun but a bit of a hard ride.
I had a 2001 BULLIT and loved it but it was under powered.
The 2020 GT500 has a front grill that looks like a Lexus or and Audi, NOT a Mustang
I recently bought a 2019 BULLITT and absolutely love it !!!

Just received my 2019 GT Premium PP1 with Magneride, Active Exhaust and Manual Transmission. I couldn't be happier. You say you're not going to take it to the drag strip, so why the Automatic? The stick is so much more fun, IMHO. I initially liked the Bullitt, but decided I liked the PP1 wheels more. The PP2 tires are so aggressive, they'll wear out in no time. I am having the dealer put lowering springs on it this week. With Magneride, you can only lower by 20mm (about 3/4"), but should lose most of the gap above the wheels. Have fun deciding!
