I got up to 160 according to radar detector and Waze GPS. I was running taller rear tires which screw with the speedo. (305/35-20)

Yeah - that one is called the limits of the engine - you need mods to move that limit!then there is a second (higher) limiter tucked away in some other module somewhere ?

Oddly the original S550's (2015) were 165. I am not sure when they dropped it to 155.I got up to 160 according to radar detector and Waze GPS. I was running taller rear tires which screw with the speedo. (305/35-20)
Maybe Ford was worried the hood would flutter off with the extra 10mph.Oddly the original S550's (2015) were 165. I am not sure when they dropped it to 155.
I wonder what Hennessy did for that, also wonder if Lund gets rid of the hard limit...not that I plan on doing that as I have a daughter and family that I cherishThere is a hard limit at 186. Getting rid of the 155 limit is easy, I haven't been able to remove the 186 limit.
Since you're not anywhere close to Mexico, it has to be in Miami. With all the traffic there, where the heck can you do that?I can do 170 without any issues.
Heck, it flutters at WAY less than 155 on my car. At least when it's windy (like 2/3s).Maybe Ford was worried the hood would flutter off with the extra 10mph.
Some engineer probably calculated the exact speed where it just pops up and blocks the while windshield, so Ford put in the limit to over the lawsuits. The flutter at lower speeds is your warning to slow down.Since you're not anywhere close to Mexico, it has to be in Miami. With all the traffic there, where the heck can you do that?

Curious what a supercharged gen 3 could do without a limiter with an 10r80 and 3.15s..
Just did the math, redline is 7500 rpms, tenth gear is 0.64 and rear axle is 3.15. With pp2 tires at 305/30/19 for a circumference of 26.2 inches, top possible mechanical speed is 290 mph.. Crazy.
