I was hoping someone else would chime in about the square vs staggered setup. I didn't feel like going into a whole argument and explaining the pros and cons. I spent a lot of time deciding between the two and the shop I bought my custom wheels from reassured me staggered was the better option...
Let's agree to disagree on which setup costs more or less.
But staggered wheels let's you run a more aggressive offset on the rear wheels, so you can get the super concave look or the deep barrel look.
What's the point of wide front tires if OP is mostly driving on the street and said they might go to the strip? More front tire is helpful on the track but for a street car you're just spending more money when you replace them.
I run 285-30/20 front and 305-35/20 rear. The only time the tires rub is if I hit a big dip in the highway at speed because my rear tires are taller than stock. I've seen threads where people squeezed 305's in the front and 315's in the rear, but I think that requires some fully custom offset...
Lots of people on here run staggered wheels and tires, including me. Fat rear tires with a nice offset really makes these cars look more aggressive. Not being able to rotate tires isn't a big deal as long as your alignment isn't causing uneven wear side-to-side. It's easy to just replace the...
Thanks for the insight. Procharger it is then. I'll talk to a tuner about which method they can control boost the best. Engineermike's throttle method or adding a waste gate and boost controller are both options. I daily my car, track it, and like canyons too, so adjusting boost on the fly would...
I've had a hard time finding dyno charts of people running low boost on the small turbos. What rpm does the torque come in? If I'm driving in snowy or icy conditions I'd hate for the boost to blast in suddenly.
I love my MBRP Street. I got the nicer stainless version. It sounds great and isn't too loud. My main reason for purchasing it was the H-pipe. H-pipes sound way better than X-pipes imo. More of an old school muscle sound. Plus MBRP is a really good value.
You really can't take a joke can you? Insurance is high because of uninsured drivers and all the idiot drivers on the road. I'm constantly trying to avoid getting hit by people swerving into my late etc.
Trust me the amount of people "scamming insurance" with track damage is a penny in the...
I live at 5000 ft above sea level. I want to go FI, but I worry about over-boosting my engine when I take a road trip to sea level. I also drive up to the mountains 9,000-12,000ft.
So far it seems like the only options with on-the-fly adjustable boost is either a pulleyed-down Centrifugal with...
I'm pretty sure I just have the balanced centered. And Level 15 is because I've been to way too many loud concerts lol.
Nice! Rockford hit the right quality to price ratio for me too. I had their subwoofers in my last two cars and have been a fan since. I considered going higher end, but at a...
My speakers get plenty loud from the stock head unit. Both the original 4" one and the Sync 3 I upgraded to. 15 is usually the max I'll turn the volume up to.
The tweeters were the worst part. Taking the a pillars off is tough. The tweeters came with their own wires what ch had to be connected to the crossover built into the door speaker. I didn't want to drill a hole in the door so i do have a wire showing when you open the door. There is a precut...
I upgraded all 6 speakers to Rockford Fosgates and the sound is worlds better than stock. The stock speakers are so cheap and lightweight when I took them out. Here's my parts list:
Rockford Fosgate P1650 6.5" 2-Way Full Range Car Audio Coaxial Speakers (rear deck speakers)
Rockford Fosgate...
