Just about to 30K miles, still on OEM Pilot 4S .

I have plenty of tread left, but the tires are cracking where the sidewall meets the tread. Just noticed this after a 1K road trip in the mountains and countryside over the 4th of July weekend.

Considering the following Summer performance tires.
- Michelin PS4
- Continental Extreme
- Indy 500

Thoughts?

I personally have not gotten the ECS Exreme summer tires, but the DWS 06 all season's are amazing. I have friends with the ECS summer tires and they love them, for the money they are comparable to the Michelin. No experience with the Indy's. I do say, whatever you do, stay away from the NItto 555 G2's. I am about 1/2 wore out on mine and got caught in a thunderstorm yesterday. I literally had to pull over and wait it out, I could get no traction whatsoever, was sliding terribly...

Pilot super sport. They are excellent in all summer conditions except going through standing water.

I can pull .9 G on a sweeper turn in the wet with my super sports on the street. That’s pretty good in my book.

I run the Conti ECS and have driven cars with PS4S. They are very similar in terms of performance. Conti’s will save you a few bucks. Conti would get my vote

My 2022 gt came with pirelli Nero zero tires and are really noisy. Only 13k miles. My ford salesman told me they were noise when I bought the car.

From the research I"ve done continental dws06 plus is on the top of my list, but some people think they're a little noisy too! It might be the all season tread.

I recently bought continental terraincontact ht for my pickup truck.
I had to send two back due to excessive vibration, I contacted continental tech support, they said find a Hunter balance machine with the road force measurement, most car dealers have them, but I found one tire dealer locally that had one..it helped identify defective new tires. That tire dealer had another customer who bought 4 continental sports car tires from tire rack that also failed the road force test,

So going forward I'm going to use a Hunter road force balancer, and pay attention to the balancing and road force numbers!

Thanks, Jerry

Another vote for the Conti ECS02's. Great tire and good price. I have them on 2 vehicles I track and absolutely love them. I've never used the PS4's so I can not compare, but I would definitely recommend the ECS02's

1,000,000,000^1,000,000,000% agree with this!!!! NT555 G2's are the worst tire I've ever used. Crap grip and it feels like you are on ice skates any time the roads are wet. I had them on my GTI and dumped them after less than 5k miles. I see people at the track using them and can not figure out why.

EXACTLY. Mine have 15K and if the roads are completely dry they are "OK" at best, but I drove mine last night during a thunderstorm (first drive in the rain in a long time) and again today on roads that were barely damp and it felt like I was driving on ice... The rear had ZERO grip, I was completely white knuckle getting home and put in the garage. Am ordering new tires ASAP when I get paid... And this is on tires that are far from bald..... I had them off doing my brake fluid flush 2 days ago and they still have plenty of tread...

PS4 is what I just put on my M1 and couldn't be happier and I know I'll get about 30k miles out of them. Get a few quotes. Costco was a little cheaper but I didn't want them doing the install. Dealership was competitively priced so I went with them.

Side note; I put Conti's on my 18 GT and found that they looked a little smaller than the PS4's that they were replacing.

They call them Shittos for a reason. I have the DWS 06+ all season's and have been really good. They have more grip in all situations than Pirelli PZ4s. The Pirelli would slide out under throttle and the Contis just hook. Even hard running the twisties these stay planted and hold. The contis aren't noisy and I don't notice a huge difference in road noise VS the summer tires. They're louder on expansion joints. That's the only time I really notice them. And I run with suspension in sport or track mode always so is pretty stiff.

But the grip in the rain VS the Pirelli which should be illegal for how poor they grip in any wet situation. And if it gets 60 or below where you're at, you'll be thankful for the Contis. I haven't run their summer tire so cannot compare.

Ooo, I have this same question but which summer/all season tire best prioritizes road comfort & low road noise? I don't care about performance... mines a daily driver.

Sorry OP I can't add any value to your thread. lol

Conti ECS 02 if budget is an issue. Michelins look “wider” and have rim guards on the sidewall to help against curb rash. Conti’s come from abroad so expect the manufacture date to be about a year old when you get them. Otherwise similar performance.

Indy 500s are tolerable on my tuned GTI. My 5.0 uses Michelin PSS due to sizing issues.

My experience with Continentals is that they are noisy!!
