I do have a whipple but with an A10 car. Here are my thoughts. I WISH I had a manual with this blower setup. Its far too powerful down low for the auto to deal with when I want to have fun on the street. It hits so hard, there are few times the trans doesnt flip out and the car hits the limiter or it shifts when Im trying to just goose it to get the tail to slide around. I miss the ability to just put it in second knowing if I goose it, its going to stay where I want it and I can play with the throttle.

That being said, in your case, I'd 100% get the whipple. With a manual, you can get that on/off pedal feel with the PD blower vs the centri. I would almost prefer to have the centri with my setup since Im auto. It would drive much better and be a bit more predictable I think with the 10R80. Not a shock to the trans and having the trans trying to catch up.

If you can pull off the swap and not take a bath on the money side, then DO IT. Manual whipple cars are a blast. And auto centri cars are also a blast. Thats all my opinion.

That's exactly what I heard. Do you remember what your total cost was for the whipple and labor? Thanks for your input 👍

Got my stage 1 kit on Memorial Day sale with injectors. It was $8k. Plus about $3k install for all the misc parts like plugs and oil/filter and so on. So like $11k installed.

This is my 3rd whipple S550 that I’m installing now and all manual cars. I would say you missed out as they usually have sales at the end of the year (this year was 10%, last year was 15%) on whipples. I bought my last gen5 stage 2 complete kit Whipple (2022 F150) for $8k from Beefcake and they are very good at going through everything with you plus they have their own specials so you can save money and get a local tuner vs the canned tune and get way better injectors.
As far as traction your not going to have much on any unprepped surface so I learned throttle position and just watched how much I apply and when. I was at 990whp on E85 and could break the cup2s at 80 easily. I miss that car lol, thanks divorce.
Doing the work yourself with just the kit your anywhere from $8-10k plus maybe $1k for incidentals or upgrades in fueling.

Oh and the most economical? Sell your car as is and look for one with a whipple already installed. They are everywhere for sell and you can save a ton. My 17 GT350 was fully built (rpg stage 2 short block, whipple with 10rib at 16psi, fore fuel system, T56xl, DSS carbon drive shaft and DSS half shafts, 6g wheels, carbon everywhere (it’s like the ordered every in lethals website) and long tubes) and I only paid $52k for it from a dealer that didn’t know what they had

If you go whipple, expect many problems with tractions. Suspension and tire setups will be necessary. Your procharger allows for a aggressive daily driver to have fun but not need racecar mods to have a racecar experience. Whipple will require very grippy tires paired good suspension in order to keep some traction going. This in mind, it depends if you are racing or just dailying with fun in mind. Imo whipple is sick, its great, however for a street application at higher hp setups its horrible for someone who doesnt want to half throttle everywhere or else he spins out. Some people love that, some people hate not being able to floor the car until 80mph+. This was one of the main reasons i went to ess supercharger, i daily my car year round, even in snow. I have all seasons and make about 700whp on pump gas, in good weather i almost dont spin second gear with 3.5 gear ratio, and ultimately only have drag springs with good all season tires. Most people dont believe me when i say i have the traction i have with the tires i have, but thats also people correlating whipple torque to the 700whp

My current setup is a manual 2016 PP with a Stage 2 P1sc1 Prochrager. Thinking about switching to the Baddest whipple available for my application. Thoughts?

Anyone is the Miami area that has a manual 5.0 with a whipple that can take me for a spin?

Lastly, My procharger stage 2 has about 10k miles on it (baby miles) what would be the resale for this setup in case I decide on switching/selling? Not looking for a trade either...

Thanks!
I agree with the "Fun Factor" of PD. My final decision to go with a PD instead of a Centri or turbo was, I didn't want to play at high speeds with the HP. I wanted to enjoy the tire shredding, Stop light to stop light TQ fun. I chaced the high.speed Demon for 30 years before it caught me, chewed and pulled on me and then let me live. So now I "mostly" want to play down low. Good Luck

The short answer is.......don't do it.

If you're below 1000 whp, then it doesn't make much sense because you can get that out of the centri setup.

If you're wanting over 1000 I'd recommend either going giant centri or turbo (big single or twins).

Without the ability to modulate torque by gear, the whipple honestly becomes useless on the street.

Seems like PCMtech might be coming onto the scene offering some solutions to limiting throttle and air load by gear, previous options were much more painful and expensive.

Bottom line, under 4 digit power, you can make sauce with any of the setups (centri, PD, turbo) and you can manage it through typica OE style tune adjustments and your right foot. After a certain point, over torque becomes the dominant issue and you simply make more torque than is useful in all but 130+ type scenarios.

Just build the centri setup to your liking. It'll be cheaper. If you want big sauce, then go turbo.

This…or, consider an upgrade to a P1X. It will hit harder everywhere while keeping a similar shape to the torque curve.
Something to consider. Ive been told too do a wastegate setup for that down low..

You can probably, pulley down considerably before jumping into an 10k+ investment on a whipple.
My bro, hope all is well. Thanks for the input. Will I need to change fuel such as E85 for this? What is your thought on a wastegate setup?

It amazed me how much the dealership couldnt give 2 shits about a modded car. Years ago I traded a pd blower s197 modded to hell & back. Cleaner her up & got all receipts ready for trade in & they never even took them. Car was on E85 when traded & they just didn't even care to even inspect the car. Drove away in my f150 a bit sad, not due to the trade in, but how much time & spent prepping it for trade.

"The procharger is just too tamed"

Could you elaborate on this? I have the HO kit w/PIx and it is far from tame.

As SolarFlare said, pulley down, get a good tune, save a crap ton of $$$, and enjoy an amazing supercharged car. You could put the money you don't spend on the Whipple towards a ported mani, long tube headers, suspension goodies, etc.
