Been looking at GT350s and I found one to test drive. Trust me, I really like it. What an improvement over my GT.

Anyways, I had two concerns for the 2017 I drove. Is the clutch supposed to stick to the floor? As in, it doesn't release easily like in the GT, forcing my foot to be on the clutch longer.
The second thing is that it sounds like it's hitting the rev limiter at a little under 8k RPM. It kept throwing me off because I instinctively shifted at 7.8k every time I heard it.

Clutch should return when you release, no sticking.

Mine does this too with redline but figured it was the engine hitting it faster then the gauge can keep up. Never researched it or asked

As others said, clutch pedal should not be sticking to the floor. Something's up with either the clutch pedal or the hydraulic system perhaps (hoses, air in the system etc.) that could be causing the pedal to not return.

Clutch is susepct as it should not stick as others have said.

As for the redline, I believe the ECU will limit the RPM to 8000 if the oil temperature is not above 190 degrees. I know Ive ran into this before on cooler spring and fall nights when cruising the oil can be down in the 170s and 180s

And add a quart of oil every 500 miles?

Some motors eat oil some dont. I have been lucky with my late 17 build that eats almost no oil but I check it often. Mostly after its filled up. I keep a quart of oil in the trunk if needed.

Good to know. Thinking about trading the GT for a GT350 right now. 30k miles at 56k. Affordable yeah but it just feels fiscally irresppnsible since I have a kid now.

Are you sure you are hitting the rev limiter? The engine cuts out momentarily at the rev limiter. I've done it at VIR a few times by accident.

I think it's 7800rpm. Don't hammer forged motors when they're cold.

I hear revs bouncing like it is hitting the limiter.

Then you're hitting the oil temperature controlled reduced redline. It's covered in the GT350 owner's supplement and is there to help protect the bearings while the oil is still cold.
