Hello,

My gt350 looks like the paint is cracking around the driver side rear bumper and starting to show signs of the same on the passenger side. The car is brand new, had it less than a month.

I've seen the threads on sagging rear bumper, which mine also suffers from, but i wanted to see if others have experienced this paint issue as well.

Nah that's not right at all man. If you are anywhere in DC metro area PM me and I'll get you a solid contact for getting that fixed (should be Ford's dime).

As a point of reference I got compliments on the Magnetic Metallic paint from an expert body shop owner, my Xpel installer and a professional photographer. All three of them were up close and personal with the entire car for their respective professions.

Definitely not normal or even typical. Start with your service manager and if there is no satisfaction escalate to the district service manager. How quickly did this deteriorate after taking delivery? The sagging issue looks like the cover was not installed correctly. I have had my car for 2 months and put 1900 miles on it and it does not show anything like yours.

I just noticed it yesterday as I was washing my car. The car is less than a month old.

Assuming Ford fixed this on their dime, what would be the best solution, have them repaint or replace the entire bumper? Considering the optioned mentioned above, would Ford buy the car back for this type of paint defect?

mvisible obviously the rear fascia paint shouldn't look like that. Ford won't replace it with a white one painted what they will do is have the rear fascia completely repainted. Don't know if you have stripes but if so will also replace the two stripes on the fascia. They definitely won't buy the car back (sorry). I know how this works. The blue with black stripes 2016 I ended up trading for a 2017. After driving it home off showroom floor, when I washed and dried it it had a gouge on the lower left side of fascia. Dealership didn't notice it when they took delivery. So they had to pay to have my rear fascia repainted and new stripes put on it. That cost them a bunch cause cost of those two stripes alone is about $500.00. I was worried sick the paint would not match or stripes not be on right. But it was perfect. You would never know. They have a new 2017 yellow with black stripes right now on the showroom floor that they found the lower front fascia damaged as it came off transport and Ford paid to have front fascia repainted and new stripes put on. You would never know and as I've found out from GM they do not have to disclose when they sell it that the front fascia has been repainted with new stripes. You just have to hope for a reputable body shop that they use.

That is not a paint issue. That is poor prep of the bumper from the mold. I check most 350s I see and most have this. Mine is the same, worse even. Your front bumper is probably the same.

Check your roof weld too. The channel just between the roof and where the door closes. One side of mine is perfect, the other is rough as crap.

It's unfortunate but the fit and finish on these 350s are awful.

wow that's crazy bad. Hope you get it fixed. Like I said before, they must have been giving away free stuff the day my car was built. I none of the issues I see people complain about on the forums.

That's the line from where they cut the excess mold off of the bumper during production....mine kind of has it. It's more of the bumper gap issue 50% of these cars have.

The quality of fit and finish on these cars is sub par at best. My fromnt bumper has those lines/ridges where the fender meets the bumper. I have dirt under the paint on the fender.....I have a scratch on the roof the I was able to get 95% gone, and I just had a ding removed that I never noticed until almost 2 months later.
