Yes, that is what I was saying. Meaning that it may be concidence that when I switched to this tensioner, my rattle went away.
I gotcha'. I just wanted to make sure it was clear since OP also has a GT350, so it's unlikely these are the problem.

I have it in my 2019 with 31k miles. You are lucky it is not as loud as mine.

Really loud when driving up until 180 degrees when it quiets down and no rattle under heavy load or higher RPM.

Just Ford things I guess. I like to drive the car hard and it has not had issues so far.

After thinking about this a bit more, it may also be possible that my 2k rattle went away as a result of installing a return fuel system, if indeed the rattle is caused by the HPFP. My theory on this is that the HPFP relies on fuel supplied from the passenger fuel rail, and there may be a moment of fuel starvation to the pump when the PCM tells it to start sending fuel to the DI injectors. With the return system, the HPFP is getting its own dedicated -6AN feed directly from the Y-block that is fed from the pumps, so it doesn't have to share the volume of fuel in the passenger rail anymore. (I have the Lethal Performance stage 1 system, but other brands have a similar layout.)

Curious if others who have installed a return system, have also noticed their 2k rattle disappear?

I don't personally have any insight/position since I'm unfamiliar with the DI system. The GT350 only uses port injection with a returnless-style fuel supply.

That said, I know a tune revision came out in 2019 that folks said helped eliminate some of the piston slap. so there could be something to it.

I think I was the one who posted about that software update for the GT350 ECU. I was using a fully licensed Ford IDS system to do some work on my GT350 and IDS provides the opportunity to check Ford's database for updated firmware for any and all of the car's modules. I checked for updated ECU software and it happily installed the update.

When I drove the car, the piston slap I'd experienced had reduced considerably and it was in a slightly different load and RPM range. I knew that slap reduction was possible because back in 2012, I was doing some tuning with SCT's software on my 2011 Mustang GT. The Coyote tune file had a selectable option to reduce piston slap, so I wasn't surprised that a change in GT350 ECU firmware had changed the slap in my Voodoo.

Hey OP, I watched both videos and that is exactly the noise my GEN 1 motor had and at the exact same RPMs. I could also hear it quite evidently right after I started the car when it was cold. It DID decrease when it got warmer, but could still hear it faintly. Was most noticeable 1800 to 3300 rpm. It's a kind of metallic-ey noise.

My gen 2 motor does not make this noise FYI.
I had in it my Gen 1 -- and I have it in my Gen 2.

I have it in my Gen 1, I let it warm up good before driving and it pretty much goes away. I know they say it’s normal but when cold it’s pretty loud. Must be a Ford thing, piston slap in the Voodoo and typewriter tick in the Coyote. You would think/expect they could do better.

Sooo, if it’s related to tuning in some manner, has anyone ever eliminated or reduced it in similar fashion with a custom/aftermarket tune? Seems that would be plausible.
