Conflicted, Have not bought a new vehicle for myself since 2004, And they have gotten pricer since that time.
Having a hard time ,telling myself buying a 40-47k vehicle is normal .
Ones side is like " you only live once" and the other side is, " holy crap, that is a lot of money for a car.

As for what they are, there are 3.
2) 5.0 gt prem trim, one manual, one auto.
and the last is a turbo 4, prem trim car.

It is odd, I did not have this problem when we bought my wife's vehicle last year. I guess because this one is treating myself. I'm at odds.

Conflicted, at odds, having a hard time...maybe you are not ready.

Not sure I'm getting it (Old age does this to you) but ice445 was just commenting that a base GT with the 301 package was a great value. Now adding the old PP2 package on top of that would be an incredible bang for the buck car.

I can relate, so 301 is closer to the PP1 option, that sound right?

Here is the 301a. A lot of bang for the buck ($2000), if you do not want to go premium.

It's a base Mustang, but with the Premium car's SYNC system, interior lighting, etc.

GT Premium base model is great without more options. Try Koons. I drove from Alabama to Sterling, VA to buy mine from Koons.

In the olden days before the pandemic insanity, one could get a stripper GT for 31K or so. I've been really happy with mine, all of the fun but none of the financial guilt of buying a loaded model. Of course, that's not to say I wouldn't have loved a loaded model too. Just pointing out you don't HAVE to play in that price point if it's uncomfortable. I will always maintain that a 301A GT is *tremendous* value if you look at the included options compared to the price.

YUP.
In 2004, I bought a Chevy loaded z-71 4x4 truck. with everything.
tow/plow package, power everything, 5.3v8 /etc.
26,400.00 was what I paid.
A new f-150 like it would be 55-65k
New vehicle pricing has gotten nuts.
If interest rates go up , and the normal bank rate is 5.9 or more.
No one will be able to afford a new vehicle.
The low interest rates are part of why many look past the nuts sticker price. Many shop by payment dollar amount.
Not a good way to do it, but many do.

Other than leather seats, what options were on a loaded '06 GT that are missing from a stripper 2020 GT? For the same price, the '20 has 53% more horsepower, an extra gear in the manual transmission, IRS...

I'm sure it was a great car in its day, I had an '05 GT Premium manual too and I loved it. My point is that for the same money, with no adjustment for inflation, the 2021 Base GT is a far better car with 90% of the premium amenities from just 15 years ago.
