"Ford Plans $14B in cost cuts as part of new CEO's strategy."
October 4, Chicago Tribune

Ford Motor Co.'s new CEO plans to cut $14 billion in costs, drop some car models and focus the company's resources on trucks, SUVs and electric vehicles as part of a renewed effort to win over skeptical investors.

Jim Hackett, who became Ford's CEO in May, met with around 100 investors in New York Tuesday to lay out his plans for the future. He said getting the company lean and flexible will help it handle the changes the auto industry is facing, from car-sharing to self-driving vehicles, to the shift to electric cars.

It's definitely possible that Ford will decide to make something else rather than the GT350 in the future, but the same concept applies. Don't make your ECOboost (or hybrids or whatever B.S. that I'm not going to buy) cars have a fatal flaw to save a couple bucks or you might pay more in the long run.

Looking at the sales of the base GT350s it's pretty obvious that getting under 50K wasn't important for the GT350 to sell.
I dont think they need them to sell I think they need the 50K price point for marketing. 50K got me interested 60K I wouldnt of been.

I dont think the TECHs have a fatal flaw they could of been better advertised perhaps.:headbonk:

FPC V8 is what got me interested. I still disagree that they needed the 50K price point. You may be one of the very few that bought the base model. Most people didn't think 50K was important enough to buy a base.

Agreed that if the advertisements had said that the tech pack cars couldn't run on the track there would be no basis for a suit IMO.

I have a track. What I am saying is I was looking for a car in the low 50s. I had a deposit on the M2(53K). When I heard of the GT350 I thought it was 50k that got me interested enough to look at.. At 60K I would of thought 60k mustang? F that.

Ford stock is under so much pressure and CEO is cutting. FP is going away, see's no value with racing.
Keep that thought!!

Back in 2007 Ford had several mustangs to offer. Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, race cars included the mustang challenge FR 500S. Rolex FR 500 C and the FR500 GT3. Today you have only the Mustang GT4.in racing. The Ford GT program IMO got Fields fired. $450K for a Ford doesn’t bring in money with so few. You can see over the years the mustang race program has been neglected to the point of one car. It’s not looking good for the future. I’m just glad we have over 65,000 Shelby’s to enjoy over the next 20 years.

You think they'll hold up? :)

They will hold up if you treat them like toys and not a DD parked outside. Haha
