SYNCIII Android Auto Update??

When did this happen? The split/tri-screen? When did this happen?

I get the split screen, with GPS on the left, and media on the right. And then when there's an alert, the media screen will split to display it, creating a tri-screen. Also, those media control buttons actually work!!!

This is really, really great. Best ever. Dear Lord, please don't let Ford change this. Just leave it be.

It's not up to Ford. It's the look of Android Auto. Ford can't change this, but I guess Google can.

For real; when you moved to the next track using the steering wheel buttons, there was a huge time lag. Now it's perfect.

With car screens getting universally bigger and wider with better resolution, a single screen navigation has become just a waste, there is enough real estate to do things like this. This looks even better on newer cars.

My VeeDub has the entire cluster a full map if you want, then there is still the infotainment screen. It's pretty sick.

I can run the VW navigation in the instrument cluster then Waze beside it on infotainment for traffic alerts even. Super slick.

I don't use use any of these connect to car apps. But if you like how its currently behaving - I would suggest disabling auto updates from the playstore for Android Auto app. That way it stays the same going forward. I do not know if you are able to disable something like that from google though.

What you're seeing was called the coolwalk update, came out with Android Auto 9.3 I think?

It's been trickling out for months, as was said. I've had it on my Bronco and my Mustang since back in the spring, personally I love the update.

Haha, I hate that split screen view, even though by tapping the map screen it will fill the whole display. When I plug in my phone for navigation, that is what I want to see. I don't need to see split screens with other stuff.

Check on your phone to ensure Carplay is allowed to update. My screen looks like the one above on any car I get in that allows Carplay.
