SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Hello I installed a Sync 3 in my base 2015 GT everything is working fine until I tried to make a call with my phone the volume was very low and hard to understand. I thought I might have a problem with the programming so I hooked up Forscan and found the following error codes:

Code: U0238 - Lost Communication With Digital Audio Control Module D

Code: B1A64 - Left Solar Sensor

Does somebody have an idea how to fix these?

Did you ever figure out how to clear these codes? I have the solar sensor, discharge temp, and an HVAC code. Thanks!

Thanks! I guess I just live with those. BTW, in my futile attempt to try to clear those DTCs, I somehow lost the little green/yellow/red bars that appear on the screen behind the vehicle symbol when in reverse. Any idea how to reactivate those? When will your website be up? (I have a 2017 V6 base upgraded to 8" screen). Thanks again!

You need the later media hub mentioned in the first post. No “programming” is needed.

Do I need updated SYNC 3 software? It's still on v1.0 of SYNC 3.

I have an apparent odd question since I haven't been able to find an answer. Is there anyway to change the vehicle information in the apim? What I mean is the donor vehicle for my apim is from an explorer and I have not came across a way to change it to a mustang, if it's even possible. The whole install went flawlessly except a few codes I missed with forscan but was easily corrected and I also updated the sync version and maps to the latest and greatest. The only issues I'm having appear to be vehicle related as I cannot get the music to play through the rear speakers and when I try to adjust the balance an fade it just reverts to it's normal position. I know everyone connected and work because when I do adjust the balance I hear the music coming from the rear speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the best place to source a bezel? Ideally without heated seats but if the heated seats one is significantly cheaper, would consider that. See people paying $125 or less in this thread. Where are they getting them for that cheap?

I used https://www.car-part.com/ to find my bezel, it's a search engine for junk yards and I managed to find a local junk yard that had a bezel. But I was unable to find one without the heated seats buttons so now I have some non-functional buttons in my car. I highly doubt anyone is finding bezels for $125, maybe that was a one-off where someone got lucky, don't count on it. I can't remember how much I paid for mine but I think it was around $350.

Everything on that list except my harness is just a Chinese spider harness that fits poorly and has a bunch of stuff that the Sync 3 doesn’t even use.

Not sure what issue you have with my website but look around this thread and Facebook. I’m the only one building a genuine harnesses in conjunction with my employer, Roush.

You’re also missing quite a few other pieces that you’ll need to complete the swap. That’s why the install kit that I sell was developed, to assist DIY customers who already have a bezel and a screen assembly.

The prices you pay online for genuine Ford parts are higher than you would pay through me. While the other dealers are selling at cost +10-12 I’m selling the parts at my cost of +5% AND providing technical information as well as assistance in setting up the parts you purchased from a salvage lot.

Found the low volume thing after hours of searching and "living with it" for a few months today. Worked perfectly. Volume back to normal on my 2016 Shelby GT350 after adding an HD enabled ACM. Thank you!

Just wanted to say that i just finished my upgrade from 4" to 8" with Sync 3 on my 2019 GT PP1,got everything from HextallS550 and it couldnt have gone any better.
All the parts were genuine Ford install was easy and Thomas support remotely programming the drive modes with Forscan in my car was excellent he was super patient while i was trying to set everything up even on a Sunday morning and i cant recommend his company and service enough.
Also i wanted to mention that his price was also the best for an all inclusive package.
Anyone still on the fence dont hesitate to contact HextallS550 you will not be dissappointed.

2016 & 2017 APIMs are notorious for issues which is why we NEVER sell them. You’ll want to get an APIM from a 2018+ and have it properly flashed.

cant get to your site at work, ill take a look. so i can keep my touchscreen, and upgrade the apim? worst case scenario my touchscreen is jacked up too, ill need that as well?
