Yea... not sure why either, I believe i tried it with 2 separate browsers... Chrome and Firefox (Mac user ) , it's a tiny file, so I doubt it's mucking it up ...
I had one other person with a Gen 5 ipod that updated and the art stopped showing up... they tried cables etc.... ended up buying a new ipod and then it worked.....
A gen 5 ipod must not work well with 3.4 as far as album art....etc...
Current will never happen... 3rd party maps are usualy 2-3 years behind (Ford, Kenwood etc...) Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, those are most current because they use your phones data line to update maps. Garmin is only as up to date as you do the updates... but are better than 3rd party....
I've read that the ERR003 , means you don't have the updated licence file.... see if you can DL it again... I read that the name might not be right.
BTW, it's not Ford that makes the maps it's a 3rd party... so maybe it's the 3rd party that hung up on you. 8)
hope this is where you got them...
I updated mine from 1-18 to 1-19 on my 2020 MKZ-Hybrid... so I know it works... but I also have the stock 3.4 19274 , so maybe it's having issues with the earlier versions?
For those that didn't know, the upgrade took about 1 hour to finish....for just the maps.
Everything is as update to date as it can be? Phone, AA and Sync?
If you can , uninstall AA and reinstall, and/or clear the cache of AA
also, make sure AA is not in Mute Mode... tapping the speaker you should have 3 options, Mute, Alerts only and unMute
The donotindx.msa is not really needed, what it does it tell the unit not to index the flash drive. it is a 0 size file
I know they talk about USB 3, try it with an older USB 2 drive. It will go slower but might be more stable.
Is there any reason you are updating?
My 2020 MKZ-hybrid came with 3.4 (19274 I think) and 1-18 maps
I havn't pulled the update because I keep reading that 20021 is buggy... don't need 1-19 maps...
I think I will wait for 4.0 as I see a bit of talk about it now... I'm hoping that I can us it like it is designed (wireless AA for...
In my 2018 FFH, I did not like it that much... mids were not there
In my 2020 Mkz-Hybrid, because it has the better sound system (more speakers has mids now, better AMP), I like it much better.. still not as good as the ipod, or HD radio but much better.
After it recovers, go into the menus and find the 'Master Reset' and do that... it will get rid of any settings and put it back to stock settings (not versions)
Sync 2 was kinda buggy like that...
AA and Waze (and CarPlay) will mostly work if you have a cable that can charge and do data. If it only does charging , AA and CP will not start.
I use AA for calls, and voice Texting all the time...
From what I have read, when Sync 4 comes out , it will allow for wireless use of AA and CP, but...
I read that if you go over a bump of some sort, that it will disconnect... and they say it's 'normal' sheesh...
I have an S20+ and BT will disconnect (and reconnect) randomly, like it did before... so Ford/Lincoln hasn't fixed that part at all...
If you setup a route on your computer, and tell it to save it to your phone... in AA you need to search for that ... it's not automatic.... maybe some day it will be (4.0 maybe?)
