They're about done then. 25K is well beyond what most MPSO tires last. Be thinking of getting new tires soon.

Can you snap some pics of the tread so I can see how they've done for 25K miles? That would be good info.
I don't think they look too bad.

Wow....yeah...those look great. No worries.

But watch out. Folks are about to start telling you you'll die if you drive on them when it's cold or rainy.

Better that then your foolish recommendation. It takes a fraction of a second to lose traction and you better be a dam good driver when you do. There is a reason that every single tire manufacturer says get summer tires off under 40 degrees. It
can be just f-clking dangerous not to do so. But go ahead, take the chance based on a stupid Internet forum. What the hell do we know?

By the way better have damn good insurance. Oh never mind, if you do get into an accident and they see you have summer tires in the winter, you are royally screwed. It’s happened and it’s no fun as you can be liable for any and all damages.

See now's about the time where you're not being taken seriously anymore. Never did I (or anyone else that is against driving these in the winter) said it in such way. We said it wasn't wise and could be dangerous, we never said "oh you're going to die the moment you pull out of your driveway". Now you're just inflating our comments to make your idiotic comment seem more credible.

And fine, don't take our word for it...how about you contact Firestone...you know the people that made the actual tire. What do they say? I'll give you a hint: they don't recommend it either and they also won't warranty the tire.

Now go drive in your Virginia "winters" with summer tires, and let the people who actually face real winters in the north discuss season appropriate tires. This is like taking critical medical advice from a 1st year pre-med student.

Take your word for it? Son......you've got to get this straight.

I've owned those tires. Had them on my car. For a few years. 2 winters. Down to 0 degrees at times. It was fine. Had absolutely no problems. Even did some light snow a time or two.

I'll take my own first hand experiences as the best proof, versus what some lawyered-up, liability-bot on a website says.

And I've also done the same driving with my current Michelin Pilot Sport 4Ss, and those crap Pirellis from the 2011-2014 days.

I'll take my daily first-hand experiences over your rampant fears.

Hmm, who are we going to trust more? Some random kid who thinks Virginia has harsh winters, or the manufacturer of the tires.

I'll let everyone else in this thread make their own choice.

Raise your hand if you’re ever crossed the Canadian border from Boston in a snow storm with your Mustang full of skis to go to Tremblant for the week. 🙋‍♂️.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever done 3 states in a snow storm on summer tires and learned a valuable life lesson. 🙋‍♂️.

I'm old and from Michigan. I've forgotten more about winter driving than you have ever known.

This isn't a contest about harsh winters. This was answering the OP's questions about his tires and when they can be used.

There is no way the summer tires can be worse than drag slicks on snow covered roads. Starting from a stop light on an up hill incline was adventurous if not down right scary.

I bet you also forgot that you weren't using summer tires in Michigan during the winter.
I never said a word about tires I used in Michigan. Is there some point you're trying to make?

0 degrees in Virginia is no different than 0 degrees in Michigan or Massachusetts. Nor is the rain.

That parking lot is how the city streets and county roads looked like for much of the winter in northern Wi back in the late 70's. I never had snow tires and never thought I needed them.

My point exactly. You might be ok to use summer tires in the winter in Virginia, but you would not dare use the same in Michigan winters. So why would he use them in New England winters?

Pretty presumptuous. Some of us grew up in the great white north on bias ply's, powerful rear wheel drive V8's and didn't use or need snow tires.

Are you missing the questions the OP asked?

He specifically said he wasn't DDing it during the winter, that there's a truck for that. He/she just wanted to know if the car could be driven when the roads were cold & clear or rainy.

The answer is yes. It's perfectly fine as long as you drive normally. I've done that and more, for years and years, there's no problems.

And to be clear, I did drive a Mustang with Ultra High Performance All Season tires in Michigan, which get's x2 the snow of Massachusetts. No, they weren't MPSO tires, but close enough. And that was 15 years ago when tires were a lot worse than they are now.
