You do NOT need to remove wipers to put the cowl braces on

The k-brace yes, but the mini extension you do. no way in hell you can get to the three bolts in the rear otherwise, so I skipped it.You do NOT need to remove wipers to put the cowl braces on
I did it without removing the wipers, just get a 10mm ratcheting flexible head wrench from Home Depot for like $10. I don't have the smallest hands either, so it's totally possible. I just slid my hand back there while using my other hand to pull up on the plastic cover, started the bolts by hand, then used the wrench. It's a pain but it can be done easier than removing the wipers. The k-brace yes, but the mini extension you do. no way in hell you can get to the three bolts in the rear otherwise, so I skipped it.
How the hell did you even fit the bolts into it with the cowling still on? I had a hard enough time fitting the bolt on the left that hides under the cowl in there, and that was only half of the way back.I did it without removing the wipers, just get a 10mm ratcheting flexible head wrench from Home Depot for like $10. OEM Ford parts, comes on PP and cars with the 20" wheels, does NOT come on any other GT, here are the part numbers taken from my Tasca order:Ok so I have the part #'a for the Stb, upper K brace, and window brace. Stefan, in your quote you listed a lower K brace:
Lower K-brace and oil pan cover: $100 total shipped (Tasca)
-lower K brace
-oil pan dust cover (fits with lower K brace)
Were these also Ford parts? Or were you referring to the Steeds lower K brace? I noticed you also mentioned oil pan covers...were the oem as well? Ate they different from what comes on a non PP car? If so could you please provide part #'s? Much appreciated.
It actually opens up a little bit once you get back behind the firewall, you just have to pull upwards hard and be confident that you won't break the plastic cowl. It'd definitely be easier with someone to pull the cowl up while you fiddle around with the bolts using two hands. How the hell did you even fit the bolts into it with the cowling still on? To protect the paint and level it with the passenger side. Why the need for rubber bushings between the brace and chassis?
I've had STB's on other cars and I'm good like this. I don't road race so I'm comfortable with this setup. And if you don't have the K-brace, strut tower brace itself makes little sense. Unless it is supposed to be for decoration only, then it makes perfect sense.
The rubber completely defeats any strength you might get from the strut bar. If you put one on for any reason except for looks DON'T put any rubber under or on top of the strut bar.Why the need for rubber bushings between the brace and chassis?
So I just recieved my M-20201-M kit from UPS today. Looks awesome. Ran into a snag however: The box had a few holes in it and guess what was missing? The plastic package was also shredded and thus one of the nuts was missing. Does anyone know the actual part # for this nut so I can order it from my local dealer as I don't want to wait the 10 or so plus days it took to get it here from the dealer I ordered it from.
I think 26 ft lb-ft.Anybody know the torque specs for the 4 nuts for the tower brace.
