Stock Torque Converter Failure here! Updated

Took the Converter to my local place that cuts them open, just got a call and they said that the converter is trash, broke the clutch plate loose.

Can't wait to see the pictures. Did you car make noise while in Park too? Mine only does it when in gear.

I broke my 6R80 at about 640whp with just a Stage 2 Procharger @ 12psi (before all the other mods in my sig).

Hit a bump mid-shift at redline, broke the converter. However in my case the car would stall as soon as it was put in gear because the converter wouldnt spin and locked up the engine. The shop told me the "support" broke I think, but I don't know enough about converters to know what that is. Since the trans was out and open I upgraded the clutches and intermediate shaft, and put in a Circle D converter.

Well,count me in on the converter breakage club,doing a data log in 2gear run it out and at 6800 rpm loud pop,went to neutral and hit the limiter.I pulled over to find out what happen,put it in drive and car moved but would randomly go into netral.Evertime I came to a stop the car would lug and just die,converter would not unlock.So 1k miles on the car and trans is coming out for a convertor.

Yea man I need to get this course off me!!!.I beat on my mt82 for 3years and never had one problem but a clutch issue.I went with the auto because i was worried about the mt82 breaking and 6r80 don't last for 1200 miles.I have 2 buddies with stock.convertors but if I have to pull the trans i would like to just a 3c in.But need to see if I can scrounge up the cash lol.Not even on a shift,2 gear pull.6800 rpms and pow!!!!.

Yea it's crazy,just don't get it never heard anything about autos breaking and now every time I open up the fi thread an auto trans is broke.

I tell u what glad I have u and kcc helping me out,from the removing and then installing of all my crap from one car to another now we have to do another trans removal.Im getting tired man lol.If u would have told me that the converter was going to break with only 1k miles on the car and only running 10.6 I would have laughed,but here i.sit with another car down.
