Changing the stock 9-speaker amp to the factory 12-speaker amp is not an upgrade. It's a sidegrade at most.
Better you put that money into a real upgrade like a new DSP amplifier and a modified integration harness like described in this thread.

Wow... what a thread :D I spent like 2 hrs or so to browse through all the content.
Yet... not what I was searching for. So here I am, asking my question.

I have a 2015 GT Convertible US model with Premium Pack and Shaker Sound System (8 Inch MFT). My plan was to replace the HU with something more modern. Would like to have Android Auto, DAB+ and such. I am ok with the speakers/amp etc, so need to change everthing.

I found a kit which suposingly should work:
CARTEC PX-5 PRO+ Android 9" Autoradio mit DAB+ Ford Mustang 2015-2022 - HIGH (https://www.car-media.ch/shop/pi/Au...mit-dab-ford-mustang-2015-22-nur-highend.html).

I got the whole kit incl. harness. When I connect it though, it does not power on. Now the dealer asks me if I can arange a spec for the connector in my car. I have no idea where to get this, but maybe someone of the beautiful people in here can help.

My base ACU's part number is FR3T-18B955-FB. The connector seems to have 54 pins...

Browsing the thread I found as an alternative the Maestro RR2 + Kit option. Would that work straight out of the box?

Thanks for any help granted.

DAB+? You are from Europe, is that correct?
If yes, no, idatalink is no option as it’s not compatible with EU spec radios.
Look up Dynavin or do a SYNC3 conversion.

Yeah, I am in Switzerland.

What are you referring to with idatalink? The maestro kit?

Bear in mind, my Stang is a US model. I imported it myself.

Yes he is talking about the Maestro kit. If you have a USDM car it will work.

Does Not matter.
European Radios from Alpine, Kenwood etc. all miss the idatalink port and firmware. You just cannot use them with the idatalink RR.

no, it don’t. None of the headunits you can buy over here have the idatalink Port that is needed for idatalink RR to work.

Oh... thanks. That means I have only limited choices.

Checking Dynavin, but this seems only to be an option for a 4" base unit. So all that's left would be a sync3 conversion then.

Nice... thanks! I'll check this out. The price is almost the same as what I bought and if this works, that would be ok.

Interessting... when I use the search on dynavin's website, I can't find the 8" upgrade option. The link above though works.

Quick questions to it though...
I do need to install the Mic which comes with the unit, right?
Will it use the factory GPS antenna?
The radio I bought needed a CAN-Bus adapter, this one not. It sill get's all the cars information like Aircon, heating, Backup camera etc?

I would call Dynavin. From what I've seen it's all plug and play except for the mic which is Dynavin one.

Yes, you need the provided mic.
No, it won’t use the factory GPS antenna, but includes a new one.
CAN bus is integrated afaik. So HVAC and everything else will work.
Somewhere around here is a dedicated thread for the Dynavin radios. In addition there is a thread about the Dynavin in the German Mustang forum.
