Hello All,
Has anyone changed the steering wheel shaft on their 2015 Mustang GT premium? If so how hard was it and did you get a aftermarket shaft or Ford? Thank you in advance for any help guys.

Never heard of that change. Rack and pinion is much more common.

If you are looking for a longer one and find it let me know. I'm either bowlegged or straight armed.

Ive disconnected the lower part. Are you wanting to replace the entire thing or the upper or lower section? The upper section goes into the car cabin. The lower part is just a shaft connecting to u joints in the engine bay leading to the steering rack.

Also why are you changing the shaft?

Without starting the car I have a slight play in the steering wheel. I dont hear any noise or clunking sound. I can move it about 1 inch each side without any resistance. Could the steering wheel bolt be loose? I checked the passenger side inner and outer tie rods and there was play on both the inner and outer rods. My car has 122000 miles on it and I changed the left side a month ago.
Im brainstorming so I dont get raped by the dealer.
