I am interested in installing Steeda Jacking Rails but then realized that I have a spare tire kit with a jack and I might not be able to use the jack that came with the kit. I have looked at many of the online pics of the jacking rails installed and I still can't tell for sure if I can use the car jack at the lifting points if I get a flat. Anyone tried the car jack with the rails installed? TJ???

That is a good question - I will have to ask our install dept. It appears that the OE jack stand has the ability to fit on the rail - It appears to have a somewhat flat surface that could be used on the rail - if others weigh in, that's great & I will work towards an answer for you.

Best Regards

the picture in the installation instructions show the triangle shape on the body lower plastic panel where the factory jack is supposed to grab the pinch weld and it wont work because the jack rail is in the way. Jacking the car up using the flat on the factory jack will not be as secure as the original method of grabbing the pinch weld. Perhaps the jack rail should be redesigned to permit the factory jack to work.

I was afraid of that...great idea on the redesign. I wonder if Steeda could have some type of relief in their rail to facilitate use of the factory jack used with the spare tire kit. I would not attempt to use the factory jack without using the pinch weld as designed. I can see really bad things happening on the side of the road with the jack not hooked onto that pinch weld.

How about it TJ?

I have both the jacking rails and the Ford accessory tire kit. One would just need common sense on the side of a road to use both.

I think it's more than common sense. The factory jack was designed to capture the pinch weld which will lock the jack to the car. Using the flat of the jack, which is very small, on the jack rail is looking for a disaster.

I will make manufacturing aware.

The Steeda jacking rails (non low profile) WILL NOT interfere with the factory scissor jack when used on the pinch weld. I was concerned with this myself at first but verified that there wasn't an issue by using the scissor jack on the pinch weld to jack the car.

I'm surprised this is the first time it was asked. Good question.

Wouldnt the scissor jack fit on this part of the pinch weld?

download the instructions which have pictures of the jack rail and the triangle on the body panel showing the jack location. It looks like it could fit forward of the recommended location.

It does, both forward and aft of the jacking rail, plenty of room.
The jacking rail isn't remotely close to the (2) factory "notch relief" jacking locations (per side) for use of the scissor jack.
People trust me, you will not have any issues using the scissor jack!!!

We love the Steeda jacking rails we installed on Scott's Mustang. We are going to need to pick up a set for Ashley's car eventually. I think we mention the steeda jacking rails every time we swap wheels in the videos Lol. Makes life so much easier.
