:cheers::cheers:

It is crazy how much debate and hate happens from CAI posts and power increases. Everything thread like this, whether started by a vendor or a forum member turns into a shit fest.

Totally blows my mind.

Be thankful for rigorous testing and development by folks like Steeda. They offer full disclosure on their testing protocol and share everything for the user base. They even open their doors for folks and other vendors to be on premise. The is the reason why Steeda gets my business.
Agreed.

It is funny because I started this thread several months ago and it went Shit free for a while...

David, Patrick and Matt to name a few of the people I have dealt with at Steeda have always been helpful and quick to respond to my questions. if I have had a problem with anything such as somehow I got the a wrong screws shipped to me for an item. I had the correct screws in my hands within 3 days from initial email to closure and I am probably 3,000 miles away. I even stripped one nut and bolt on my IRS Subframe Stiffeners after owning them for 3 plus months. I had to take it off to install another part. totally my fault on the re-install. I emailed told him I was dumb explained what happened and again within a few days and entire passenger side nut and bolt/hardware kit arrived. Customer service is King with me. My purchasing depends on the following, 1. Customer Service, 2. Availability of product and 3. Price. in that order.

BTW I am not on Steedas Payroll but I sure support them because of their customer service and product availability not too mention everything I have added has made a significant difference in how the car has handled and performed. from the simple IRS subframe bushing support system to the Adjustable Toe Links. As of now I roll on almost their entire Suspension and handling line up available to date and I have not had one issue in quality or performance. Nothing has been shipped damaged ot r in poor quality, nothing has broken and I literally started putting stuff on the car 10 months ago. I have 13,000+ miles on several of their parts with probably 7,000 miles on the least used item beside the frame jacking rails that went on 600 miles ago. Everything I have put on this car has simply made the car better in every way.

sorry for the rant.

I for one will never run a Steeda part on my car since I know it will never help me at the track.
Let me start by again saying I am not on Steeda Payroll. I simply support them because their products have not let me down yet.

“I know it will never help me on the track” is a very bold statement. Can you elaborate on this Knowledge? Just curious as to how you know that it “will never help you”? Is it a personal preference thing, did something break, did someone not take care of you the split second you wanted help?

I still have not put my car on the track but I have driven a few hundred miles on some mountain roads and several, several thousand miles on various roads and highways. I can tell you without a doubt my car handles 100% better than my stock performance pack suspension when compared to my Steeda Suspension set up. Below is a partial list of the products I have personally installed on my car that came from Steeda. I have had zero issues with product quality, availability, customer service etc. so far everyone there has been great to deal with.

Steeda Progressive Sport Springs
Steeda IRS Subframe Bushing Support
Steeda IRS Subframe Support Braces
Steeda IRS Subframe Alignment Kit
Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member
Steeda Front and Rear Sway Bars
Steeda Front and Rear Billet Sway Bar Mounts
Steeda Vertical Links
Steeda Adjustable Toe Links
Steeda Adjustable Differential Bushing Insert System
Steeda Ultra Lite Chassis Jacking Rails
Steeda MT 82 Bushing

Speaking of mis-information...

We run an 11.96 @ 115.18 mph with our CAI, tune and 17" Nittos and stock exhaust. Full weight as well.

Here's another video where we run 11.88:

This is probably the most ignorant thing I've read today. A dynograph is repeatable as long as you can control the environment...as stated by Steeda during their testing.

A drag strip, driver, and outdoor weather are not controllable factors. They could've taken it to the strip and knocked out a 12.9 stock with 100 degree ambient temp and then a 12.4 a week later at 80 degrees. Does that prove the CAI gave you a .5 second decrease in 1/4 mile time? Not a chance, there are too many variables to consider.
I guess you don't spend much time at the drag strip but rather puff your chest out over inflated dyno numbers.

Ever heard of trap speed?

They dont all know you ran low 11s on the stock box with basic bolt ons in your previous s197 coyote.
True but that was a different car so that's the reason I haven't brought that up yet. Some may think it's not revelant and they may have a point.

Yep, sure have heard of that...and I'll still stand by my previous statement of "too many variables at the track to do effective repeatable testing". Reading comprehension...try it.

What I don't do is drag race on the internet or bash vendor's items without anything to back it up. ;)

Interestingly enough i dont have a bunch of dyno numbers to throw around but I spent some time at the drags a few weeks back as a spectator and what I noticed was that the same cars and trucks consistently ran different times and traps. I would contribute this to reaction time, wheel spin, driver error, temperature changing thru the day and track prep going bye bye etc.

Yawn. Not impressed.
Anything under 12 is pretty impressive for an almost stock car. I remember just a few years back you would have to dump a few grand into a 2010 GT to get 11.9 out of it and a 2005 mustang GT you would spend a hell of a lot more to get it to a solid 12. We have come a long way with engine technology in just recent years.

For what its worth the title of my thread and OP was Steeda CAI vs K&N CAI. Not Steeda out drags K&N.... track slips to prove it...

The point of the thread was to show the difference in manufacturing techniques and quality of the two manufactures and provide some daily driving data. Which lets face it, daily driving is probably what 65+% of forum members use their car for. I bet there is a hand full of once in a while Drag guys on here and then even less of the "hard core" track guys on here. Maybe I am wrong...

Bottom line I was not happy with my K&N performance and I am happier with my Steeda Performance.

I've decided on a steeda. Just waiting for a holiday sale ! I think it looks the best, looks well made with a large volume airbox etc. I'm not buying because I know the hp may possibly identical to the competition or slightly better. To me aesthetics, design/eng and build quality count as well.

Well good choice. I think you will be happy with your purchase.
