Is a CAI worth the money as opposed to just dropping in a high flow K&N filter? Many say the stock airbox flows plenty of air. There will be a catback exhaust and possibly headers in the future, but that will be in. No plans on any forced induction set ups.

2018-2020, maybe 2021 factory boxes flow as good as most all aftermarket CAI's. Drop in a green filter or K&N equivalent and the intake won't hold back as much power as you want to make on N/A. The one exception to this rule is a PMAS intake with a fender well kit to draw in cooler air. Otherwise most aftermarket boxes suck in hotter under hood air unless it's a closed type box. But then the MAF housings vary quite a bit due to manufacturing tolerances. According to Lund, the most consistent aftermarket intake is the PMAS for MAF curves which means their manufacturing tolerances are very tight.

Get a nice drop in filter. The gains people see from a cai are mostly tune related. CAI, DEVICE, and TUNE is a pricy investment for such little gains. Traction improvements will yield better results, actully make your car faster, and cost less.

Actually suspension is my first project, Steeda sprigs and the rear lockout kit. Since she is a 'vert there isnt much else to do to the rear.

Convertible jacking rails can add some stiffening as well. Have fun with your build, I'm sure you'll enjoy either way.

Drop in filter and call it a day. Flows well and keeps iats down. Unless it were a 15-17 car, then would suggest upgrading to 18+ oem.

The 18+ airbox does for sure. I switched to that and a drop-in K&N for my NA 17 GT and it was quicker/faster than my previous PMAS. NOT bad mouthing PMAS by any means, it's just in my particular setup, that was the case.
