Input required..constructive please! ....So these Mustangs come from the factory with the sway bars centered and zero load!! Then we all lower the cars and bingo... preload on the sway bars!
Steeda offers adjustable end links....simply lengthen the links to add the drop...and bingo...centered again. Does this make sense...any suspension gurus out there?? I just got the Steeda links and will add 3/4” and re-install!! My 2015 was lowered..ride was a tad harsher..not bad. Lowered the BULLITT and it seems somewhat rougher that the previous 2015... NEED INPUT pls
@SteedaTech ...Tim???? Will my ride seem somewhat smoother?? Or less rough? What will they accomplish???

I dont think all the preload is in the sway bars as much as the other suspension components. See attached

As per recommendations from Steeda and the write up in red in your post... all bushings have been clocked and re-torqued......so these load points pointed out should be fine! Thanx for the feedback!!

If you lower your car, you are NOT adding any preload or stress to the sway bar as long as the strut height is equal on both left and right struts. (Sway bars only do work when there is a displacement differential between the left and right spring perches.) You would only need adjustable sway bar end links if you corner balance your car. By changing the perch height at each strut tower separately, you WILL be inducing a height differential and therefore inducing preload into the sway bar; aka causing turning dynamics to vary for left and right turns. To correct this preload imbalance, you would install adjustable end links to get the sway bar back to the neutral position.

The other scenario requiring adjustable end links would be if you had ride height adjustable struts (coilovers).
Lowering your car evenly does not induce sway bar preload but it does alter the geometry. By lowering the car, you are changing the moment arm acting on the sway bar (the radius at which the end link pushes on the sway bar). Most aftermarket fixed-height struts will raise or lower the end link attachment point to compensate for this moment arm change. HOWEVER, since coilovers are height adjustable, the manufacturer cannot design one end link attachment location that is perfectly suitable for all height levels. For this case, you would need adjustable sway bar end links to maintain the factory moment arm position.

It should be useful if lowering and keeping the stock PP front sway as i believe the bushings are bonded to the bar.

Yeah if your bushings are clocked properly, then the only preload is if you have a 'PP' front swaybar, which does have the bushing/mounts bonded to the bar at stock ride height. That and the factory front endlinks bend very easily (or at least the 2016 ones did). IMHO the rear factory endlinks are fine, unless you're trying to corner balance with swaybar preload or something.

All of them
Adjustable bar links are one of the very best first suspension modifications you can perform to the S550 Mustangs suspension.

The majority of people who read this post likely have an S550 Mustang that has preloaded bars while driving down the road.

Feels like an ignorant question, but I'll ask anyway. How are people getting access to all these bushings/bolts with the car on all fours? You guys using a drive-on style 4 post lift and getting at it that way?

Yes exactly, you can't do it properly with the 2 post lift because it has no load.
