Hello All,
I heard a funny noise from my left front tire while I was turning. I was able to make it home to inspect. I removed the left tire and grabbed my front sway bark link by the staff and was able to move it swiveling from left to right. Is that normal to be able to that by hand and what other possibilities could I have? I drove around the block a field times and I didn't hear the same noise. I recently got a 4 wheel alignment 3 weeks ago as well. I was about to order 2 links but I decided to see if anyone had any options or opinions.

Thank you, Blake

Are these factory end links? How easy was it to move?
If it was fairly easy to move it could be the cause of the noise. They do fail/wear and will make clunking noises. If you've done a good inspection of the suspension and don't see any other issues, it's a good place to start. Replacement parts are relatively cheap and easy to replace.

Swivel of link is normal. Up / down / in / out is not. If it is an occassional loud popping sound, then it may be loose and sliding in the mount.

The stock links are pretty terrible. Moog has replacements with grease fittings for about $20 each. I bought my from the jungle website, because I was in a hurry to get them.

With a recent alignment, I would check that the tie rod jam nuts are tight.

Link needs to be able to move since the suspension moves / wheels turn (front ones, rear only rarely).

You can't diagnose loose link by hand, need at least pry bar - ideally just grab an impact and tighten the nuts (with a regular wrench you have counter-rotate them).

Hi replaced with moogs and I haven't heard the noise anymore. Thank you responding. I didn't want to it to the dealer to have them say I need this and I need that lol
