Edit: I MEANT to post this in the "Cosmetic Upkeep" section..NBD I suppose.

Still waiting on some QD fittings from OG but I had enough to test out the CR Spotless DIC-20 for the first time yesterday on the other half's vehicle. (The Mustang was clean and covered.)

I rinsed, foamed, rinsed, hand washed, rinsed, and then did the DIC-20 rinse doing my best to get all the first rinse water off. Suffice it to say, the rig works as advertised. I also took Matt at OG's suggestion to dial down the Kranzle 1122TST to 600psi. No serious pressure needed for rinsing, and lowering the pressure conserves water which also means it conserves resin.

I intentionally took my time blow drying the car with the Max Blasster while normally, I would have been moving as quickly as possible to avoid spotting. A much nicer experience than in the past and I never touched her with a drying towel.

The only learning curve item for the DIC-20 is to make sure I have depressurized the rig so the remaining water runs out before storing. (It gushes if you don't.)

I'll close with another pitch for ceramic coating. Washing the vehicle was SO easy, the washing pad just glided over the surface and the rinse water rolled off like no tomorrow.

It really makes washing vehicles a lot more enjoyable for me. I have had the same unit for around 4 months now. As a test, I washed our black Explorer ST and left it wet and parked it in full sun and there was not a water spot anywhere. Before I had to rush to get it dried by hand before it spotted.

Jeremy: I SO know what you mean about "before" and I was going to try the same thing with my truck next time she gets a bath. Amazing that those two carts can remove ALL the minerals. My whole house softener tank holds three times as much resin but doesn't pull the TDS anywhere near zero.

Even rain water will always air dry leaving spots and it begins life as distilled until it hits contaminants in the air.

I couldn't be happier with the DIC-20. Highly-recommended.

I recall those cartridges were quite a bit of money when they have to be replaced. Thats why I opted not to get one of these.

My brother has one and ive borrowed it before and they do work great.

My only issue is I cant leave a car to air dry unless I want it to be green this time of year. Within 30 minutes it will have a coating of pollen on it.

Theoretically, could you just leave the car wet to dry in the sun and not get spots? Where I'm at I only have a small window to was before the sun creeps over and running around trying to dry fast gets tiring

Bender: In that case, pick up one of these MOST useful gadgets, pull her into the garage, and in about five minutes, she'll be dry and spot free. Then, you can throw her cover on and tell the pollen adios. We have a similar period of time down here for Live Oak pollen but it comes earlier than up North and it's much heavier than air so it doesn't "light" on things like it does up your way. (Grew up in Akron and I remember the pollen.)

BTW, I have a ton of barely used drying towels I no longer need... <smile>

KB, we think alike. 😊. Got mine in 2016 when I got the RS. It is hard mounted on the wall just above my pressure washer (not nearly as nice as yours, I know).
