The water is pure Oxygen and Hydrogen
Todd: Not sure if that was humor or not. If so, 10-4. If not, good thought but those two elements are molecularly combined into molecules of water with no trace of the properties of the elements.

I believe the spotless result is because there are zero minerals/solids dissolved/in suspension in adequately de-ionized water. Think distilled as the output from the CR Spotless units is as close as you can get to it without boiling and re-condensing.

I have VERY hard water here that destroyed my two previous cars (no matter what I did). I wasn't going to let that happen to my mustang.

I went with this Deionizer for ~$100: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H8MQTMD?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details

It works _perfectly_. Not a single spot.

I also like that the resin is color changing - so you can see when you need to change it. I got ~10 car _rinses_ out of one canister (there are two attached - but it basically uses the first one first).

Finally: the refills are only $30... and it refills two canisters: https://www.amazon.com/AQUATICLIFE-...4&sr=1-1-49946e88-733b-44df-869b-c05699555c56

So - if you're looking for a cheaper solution I can _highly_ recommend that one.

Man I swear I read that in this Vulcans voice.

Ha. I like your Spock explanation better. I'm pretty sure i was quoting the owner of CR spotless on the site. It sure sounds good. I will check it out.

They definitely are great. Nothing like watching a black vehicle dry itself spot free in the sun.
Finally took the plunge and bought a deionizer tank from griots. Then built a rinse system cart. What a difference. Tested it today on my truck and no water spots.

Iā€™m curious how many washes you get out of 13lbs of resin. Did you get a TDS meter as well?

Will have to post that up when I know. I do have a TDS meter. I only use it for final rinse not the wash. So far it works great. I use a pressure washer gun, 40 degree tip and just regular water pressure. It will use about 1 gal for every minute and a half. Still playing with it so may adjust that.

When we built our house, I had the builder add an outside spigot from the soft water system. Use that source to wash my cars.
initially, my builder thought I was nuts. But once he saw how big I wanted my ā€œ3 carā€ garage, he understood: Itā€™s 1,100 sq ft.

Edit: I MEANT to post this in the "Cosmetic Upkeep" section..NBD I suppose.

------

Still waiting on some QD fittings from OG but I had enough to test out the CR Spotless DIC-20 for the first time yesterday on the other half's vehicle. (The Mustang was clean and covered.)

I rinsed, foamed, rinsed, hand washed, rinsed, and then did the DIC-20 rinse doing my best to get all the first rinse water off. Suffice it to say, the rig works as advertised. I also took Matt at OG's suggestion to dial down the Kranzle 1122TST to 600psi. No serious pressure needed for rinsing, and lowering the pressure conserves water which also means it conserves resin.

I intentionally took my time blow drying the car with the Max Blasster while normally, I would have been moving as quickly as possible to avoid spotting. A much nicer experience than in the past and I never touched her with a drying towel.

The only learning curve item for the DIC-20 is to make sure I have depressurized the rig so the remaining water runs out before storing. (It gushes if you don't.)

I'll close with another pitch for ceramic coating. Washing the vehicle was SO easy, the washing pad just glided over the surface and the rinse water rolled off like no tomorrow.
Have had the same system. Just did their resin exchange program after a year. I use it for everything, not just rinsing. That way I don't have to worry about sun spots.

Although I use my backpack blower to dry the car, I have let the sun do it and zero spots. Worth every penny.

Picking up my Shelby tomorrow from being ceramic coated so thanks to the info posted here I have ordered the CR Spotless DIC-20 as well as the upgrade down tubes from the RV store. Looking forward to some spot-free washes!
