I don't like the huge gaps. Not sure if the V6 uses the same plugs as the 5.0 or eco boost but I use the eco boost plugs. One step colder and come with a smaller gap.
What possible reason other than "I don't like the huge gaps" would you tighten the SP gap on a NA engine ? You also like E85 too.. which would make it worse.

Because at 6500 RPM and above the huge gaps tax the coils. The reason for the large gap is for fuel economy at cruise. The eco boost plugs have plenty of gap to light the lean mixture at idle and cruise. The one step colder helps with LSPI

It's just a .51 gap lol. There enough firepower in the coil pack to fire off a .8 gap with 14:1 @ 8000 rpm.

You are correct. I still like using the min amount of gap needed to get the result I need. Coils will last longer. To me it's like Ign timing, if it makes the same power with 28 degrees as 32, why use 32?
