unfortunately this means my mustang will be moving on down the road. Thanks for all the help along the way, really happy with the way my car turned out, just can’t justify owning four cars right now. hopefully the next owner loves it just as much.

Congrats on the Viper! It looks like it was barely even driven. Tell us more about it (stock, modded, power output, etc.). Will you be doing road course work with it, or just enjoying it as is?

Congrats! Phenomenal choice! 🤙 I'm in the process of selling my Super Snake since I can't justify keeping it at this point. This post reminds me of the importance of letting stuff go, even though you love it. There's always the next one!

No traction control or ABS on these right? I’m pretty sure that most owners don’t set out to drive them in bad weather though.

My understanding is that 96-02 was more of a "midcycle refresh" like a 991.2 911, or like the 2018+ S650 Mustang, though maybe more significant changes than most such refreshes.

Wikipedia seems to confirm, but I'm certainly no Viper expert:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodge_Viper#First_generation_(SR;_1991–2002)
Gts that started in 96 were always gen 2
Rt10 started in 93 and were first gen until 95
The 96 rt10 is considered a gen1.5
And 97 and up rt10 are gen 2

It’s got headers, cat delete, 3” dual exhaust, custom carbon fiber intake, stop tech brakes. Other than that it’s stock I believe. May have a cam as it sounds a lot meaner than my friend’s 98.

Not sure on power, haven’t had it out much yet. It’s a quasi barn find, only racked up about 25 miles since 2015 so I’ve spent the past few weeks changing fluids and rebuilding the brakes.

Now that I got the brakes working correctly I’m going to drive it for the next few weeks and then put it away for the year. Will get new tires and have the shocks rebuilt over winter and it will be ready for some light road course work in the spring. I won’t be tracking it hard but I’ll hopefully be running it out there a couple times a year. Mostly it will be a garage queen/cruiser though

few more pics. That’s my friends red 98
