Just wanted to know people's view on why they aren't getting the PP if they order the EB/GT (premium or non-premium).

I'm going to throw out some guesses:

- Cost
- Lack of wheel choice
- The regular model will presumably handle 'good enough' for them and they don't see the need to spend more for the PP.

This is my first time getting a PP-equipped model. I never really planned to track any of my previous Mustangs. They were Daily Drivers and meant for cruising with some fun factor. Since I pretty much work from home 100% of the time now, it'll still be my DD, but I don't have to deal with rush-hour traffic any longer and I also plan to get into AutoX.

Mine will be a daily driver with no intent to drive on a track. No reason to spend the extra money. I'll be sticking w/ the 18" wheels too so that I get a better ride.

If I go for the Auto GT then I can't get the PP. But I wouldn't necessarily get it if I could. To keep costs slightly lower.

If I go for the auto EB, then I may think about it. But I would like to get a spare tire with the car which that package prevents.

I ditto the cost! Ecoboost Premium is more than adequate for me.

An auto precludes you from getting the PP anyway.

I won't be racing my 2015 GT Premium and, based on my experience with my 2011 GT and 2013 GT/CS (both had standard suspensions), I'm expecting my 2015 will handle and stop good enough for street use.

Also, the retail price on the 2015 I've ordered will probably be $38,725 (inc dest. & del.) and the PP would probably add $2,500 retail on top of that. I'll buy via X-Plan so my cost will be lower but, still, that's a lot of money and I can't justify the PP costs.

Ford doesn't offer it with the automatic. I'm not given the choice.

I'm kind of leaning towards not getting the performance package on a GT model, but if there is a Brembo Brake package (like they did for the last gen here in Canada) then that's what I'd probably be going for. I won't track the car, so I probably don't need the braces or larger radiator, and it's probable that I'll replace the shocks and springs with good quality aftermarket stuff anyway (after a few years). The way I drive my car, I probably don't need the 3.73 gear (the standard 3.31 is probably enough).

Plus I think that the GT PP's staggered wheels/tires are unnecessary for what I want out of my car, not to mention that the wheel design is terrible.

This will all change when I get to hear more about the car.

On the GT - yes, as stated in my comment "If I go for the Auto GT then I cant get the PP"

However, I then stated that hypothetically if it were available, I probably still wouldnt for cost reasons.

On the Ecoboost you can get PP and auto together.

Sorry about that, I've been paying more attention to the 5.0 stuff since that's what I'm getting. I had forgotten that you can bundle the EB/AT/PP together.

I'm not sure if I'm getting the 5.0 or Ecoboost yet. If Ecoboost, then yes to the PP. If the 5.0, then no.. the brakes are similar to the 5th generation brembos, so more than adequate for street use. :clap2:

I'm going to predict that stoping distances for single stops are going to be similar with similar tires between the standard GT brakes and the PP 15's. Plus more unsprung weight doesn't feel that great, although I don't know if it will matter feel-wise with the electric power steering. You only need the huge brakes as a heat sink if you're going to the track. Not on my radar.

I like the wheels with the argent color, silver, or machined faces, but I don't want 20's. I like a little more tire (old school I guess). The LE wheels are the best, but that car is out of my budget. Plus I'd be reticent to drive it much, so what's the point.

Not going to be much difference between 3:55 to 3:73 gears, plus I'll probably opt for auto this time. It's a great gearbox and will hold gears for back road driving so.. perfect.

Can't wait to see these cars start showing up on the road.

For me, I would probably get the GT without the PP if it is optional here.

I like the look of the standard GT front brakes better than the brembos, and for what I'm going to be doing with it, they will be more than adequate.

Strut-tower and K-brace - can get better aftermarket ones at a later point.

Gauge pack - extra gadgets and weight that I'm not fussed on having.

Larger radiator - extra weight (probably will be standard in Aus though)

Brembo brakes - heavier, I doubt I will use the standard ones to their full extent, and will replace the rotors on standard ones with DBA 5000 series with aluminium hubs at some point.

3.73 - I actually don't want more gear in the diff, I want to keep it more fuel efficient, at least to begin with, at some point I might decide to get a new diff, but I think I might just get a Torsen diff and keep the same ring gear.

Spoiler delete - will be having this free option anyway.

Unique stability control, blah blah tuning - hmm, not sure how tangible this will actually be (sceptical lol).

Bigger wheels - more weight, more expensive tyres, was going to replace the wheels anyway with Forgestar F14s and stay at 18 inches for less weight, better ride / less shock to the wheels on potholes (help stop damage to the wheels). Also I wanted the spare wheel (probably) and I thought maybe why it was optional was because they would give you another of the same wheel it has on it, and if you went to PP with different wheel they would not do it for cost / availability reasons or something. It probably is just about fitting over the brakes I realise now, but still.
