Good to hear from you doulos4jc! Yep, I remember you as well. Those were fun times back when we were all waiting for our cars to be built and delivered. I'm glad to hear your car is doing well too.
Glad you're enjoying your Mustang hiccup. This is the first car that I have not performed my own oil changes. My dealer included a free oil/filter change package. So, it saves me a few dollars. I've had really good experience with the Motorcraft semi-syn 5w-20 oil that Ford's dealers use. My...
It's been about 9 months since I've posted anything so I thought I'd share my update. My car is a 2015 model and was ordered 5/20/2014 and built October 2014. I took delivery the day after Thanksgiving 2014. I now have a slightly more than 18,000 miles on the car. The only problem I've had with...
Almost all of my commute time is stop and go driving in very heavy traffic. Rather than shift into each gear from a stop, I'll start in first, then at 2,600 RPM I'll shift into 3rd gear and, as soon as I can, I'll shift into 5th gear skipping 2nd and 4th gears. When I shift into 3rd and 5th, the...
I'm driving up from the GP/Arlington area to Coppell. Any route you try to take, it's stop n go. Hwy 360, Hwy 161/Bush Tollway, or Loop 12 Walton Walker are all parking lots every day. I usually just take Belt Line Rd all the way up from I-20 past 635. It's a consistent 55 minutes. Lots of...
Agreed. It will go up. I've noticed that it makes a big difference in economy in how aggressive one drives. Accelerate fast inbetween lights, it sucks gas. Accelerate easy inbetween lights, it will return respectable fuel economy.
I also don't know what affect a 3.73 vs 3.31 axle will have on...
Agreed re oxymorons. I should've said that my full-throttle acceleration occurred on a freeway onramp (Saturday afternoon).
I agree and know what you mean regarding retarding of the ignition timing as being responsible for the acceleration difference in what I'm feeling. I remember back in the...
I started a new job 2 weeks ago that requires me to commute daily 25 miles each way in stop and go traffic (45 minutes ~ 60+ minutes each way). Previously, I worked from home and only drove my 2015 Mustang GT for pleasure, almost never in stop and go traffic.
Since I'm driving more (1,000 more...
The exhaust sounds from my 1996, 2000, 2005, 2006, and 2010 4.6 V8 all sound better to my ear than the Coyote V8. I dare say the 4.6 sounds as good if not better than even the old Ford 5.0/302 pushrod V8s. The Coyote V8 sounds good at low RPMs but when rev'd up, it gets really raspy and I don't...
I know many folks who have Mustang GTs with the base suspension and Ecoboost Mustangs with PP have been interested hearing from those who've had the TSB repair done to stop the brake squeal issue.
A week ago, I finally took my 2015 Mustang GT in for its first maintenance/oil change at 6,200...
I can also confirm this. My 2011 5.0 had "the tick". If I remember correctly, an engineer at Ford confirmed to me back in 2011 that this can happen on the 2011/12 5.0 engines when the factory oil is changed too early. Although the factory oil is nothing special, the particles that get into the...
Love this quote: "But the GT remains the top dog of the current Mustang lineup, and that’s just how it’s going to be, no matter how much power its little brothers put out." This is true (well, until the GT350 comes out).
This article seemed to have silenced the EB folks, which is odd. I...
I've achieved low 27s with my GT w/3.31 and manual trans on highway trips. I kept my speed below 70MPH and didn't use the speed control. The car has long legs and does really well if, as you say, don't always drive it like a PO'd teen.
See these links about Nissan sunroofs breaking and shattering all by themselves. This happened to a friend of mine who had a new Nissan Murano. It "exploded" as she was driving down the road, similar to one example in the WRAL article. Ford is also mentioned in the WRAL article.
WRAL: Without...

The two quoted excerpts from your comment describe my 2015 Mustang GT Premium (with base suspension) perfectly. My car is tight as a drum. I have the optional soft-touch surfaces in my interior and there are only a few hard-plastics remaining (eg, parts of the console). I never thought I was...
This is not uncommon. I have a similar problem except my passenger door clears the fender by only a hair. See link below to my earlier post for photos of my door rubbing on the foam. My car was made in October and delivered late Nov.

My feelings exactly. Seems every week or two I see a post where some EB owner gets their feelings hurt because they didn't get the respect they felt they deserved or someone said something stupid about their car. Sheesh.
I've been around a long time and car guys are always going to talk sh*t...
I believe this is true. I lurked in the Camaro5 forums for 2-3 days after the gen6 reveal and the comments about the gen6 Camaro were nearly unanimous that the gen5 looked better.
I remember when the 6th gen Mustangs were first revealed that some Mustang owners and fans didn't (and still don't)...
