Go to the Procharger website and see the pictures of the 2014 back system , pretty easy to see the difference between the 2014 system and the 2015 and up system .. For one the 2015 blower pulley faces the firewall while the 2014 pulley faces the front bumper .. The 2014 back has the air filter at the firewall while the air intake on the 2015 goes into the left front fender well .. The 2014 idler pulley, adjustor and Bracket is massive Vs the 2015 ..

The way it set up on the 2014 back motors has the blower way out in front of the motor so the lower pulley added on to line the belt up ..That would put more stress on the crank snout than the 2015 HO Kit that uses stock pulleys ..

I have no clue if this is what caused the crank to break , I'm just noting the differences between the two systems .. The guys with the stage 2 systems on the s550s don't seem to have this problem as far as I know ..

Zero chance this was caused by the blower. Flaw in the crank, or installer error. I'd personally lean 99% on installation.

If the guy had the oil pump work done 5-6k miles ago maybe I would've said ok, let's look into this but the fact that it was done 200 miles ago tells me way more likely than not it's a install error.

The 11-14 systems use the extended crank pulley design, the stage 2 for the s550 still uses the extended crank pulley design for the 8 rib drive. This is not the only crank failure out there with procharger. Its a ton of extra leverage out at the the very end off the crank. One of the main reasons i dont like proleakers.

Come on !!!! 200 miles after install,if u dont get them cam locs lined up right and pulley has room to hit side to side this will break your crank.I be wiling to be my paycheck this was a install error.I could also goggle quite a bit of paxton failures but again like op stated this is not about that. Some people just need to stay away from the wrenches:D

NOT MINE

Thought I would share.

Now I am a Procharger fan boy and a stage 2 owner. This is the first I have seen of a 15+ snapping the front of the crank off. So rather than focus on Paxton/PC kits that do not use a dedicated drive belt I would like to keep the topic to "what caused this?" and "is it avoidable?"

I have to believe there was an install F up since he has less than 200 miles on it since install.

The guys motor is trashed BTW and everything in it has been destroyed. Would love to understand if this can be avoided and how.
Damm man dont do that again lol.I was thinking oh man please dont tell me his crank broke, and then i clicked on the post lol.

I didn't say it happens all the time. But will always be bad design in my book. Put 50lbs in your hand with your arm straight out then put the 50lbs by your elbow with your arm straight out. Tell me which one creates less stress. Paxton and crank failures? Yeah not many at all. We use the oem belt tensioner and get it done.

Procharger did it right with the stage 1 kit for the s550 and should of just designed it like vortech did with being able to add an 8 rib kit while using the stock tensioner.

I get it,it could happen, but in my many years experience as a mechanic when someone installed some mod on their car and then right away and 200 miles to me is right away it was some kind of install error, bolts not torqued right, clearences not right, belt and so on.Now if this kit had a few thousands miles on it,it would be different.
