My 2020 GT convertible came with the B&O system. If I wanted to upgrade the 2 door speakers and nothing else, which speakers will give me the best value? TIA.

Thats a little loaded question... There are so many different brands your gonna get answers all over the spectrum with what who thinks is the best, or even good. Take me for example i replaced my doors 6.5 and mid 3.5 with JBL's. I can tell you that my stereo has never sounded better. I love it. Crystal clear sound, and just overall better than the factory speakers. Lets see how many other answers you get... End of the day make sure you do your research

I’m curious as well. I don’t have the B&O but I would like to replace my stock speakers at some point. Back in high school and college when I was really into swapping out stereo stuff, Rockford Fosgate was my go-to for speakers. I haven’t kept up with all the different options over the years so I really don’t know who is best in quality right now. My wife has a Bose system in her SUV (GM option on hers) and it sounds really good and Bose is typically up there in terms of quality.

Thanks. I have always had good luck with JBL's. I am curious about anyone with results with Focal and Morel. I'll need to get a loan for the Morels if that option is taken. lol

Bose always has had a supreme Marketing scheme. Today, their system(s) are rated as average. Depending on your budget, do some listening tests for your car. Bose may sound great in your wife's car but may fall short in yours. WIth winter setting in, I'll use this time to investigate. (advice from a former SouthSIder)

Yeah I definitely need to research, like I said I haven’t kept up with this stuff in quite a while. I do like JBL so they’re on my list to check out. My home stereo stuff is Yamaha and I really like it but not sure if they do anything for cars and if it’s any good. If you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears!

Any chance you know the JBL part number or model? I've heard the ohms are all over the place from Ford. Does the Crutchfield guide hit pretty close to accurate ohm ratings?

As stated there’s way too many variables we have to assume with the little information you gave us. Are you going to add an aftermarket amp or keep the rest of the system stock? If you’re keeping it stock then look for a set of 6.5” speakers that are 4 ohm (most are) and require 20-50 watts. You can go bigger of course but the stock amp doesn’t put out very much RMS.
JBL and infinity are popular choices as they’ve been making audio gear forever (and are under the same parent company). Rockford also makes good speakers. If budget is a factor find the best reviewed speakers in your budget range. Crutchfield is a good source of info and reviews. Also don’t forget to account for the price of new baffles and wiring harness adapter. You can find both at Sounds Good Stereo here: https://soundsgoodstereo.com/collec...6-5-inch-speaker-adapters-fits-front-and-rear

Funny you should mention Focal and Morel. I have Focal Components in the doors and tweeter locations and Morel coaxial in the rear and they sound great BUT this is in a fully revamped system that only maintains the stock head unit.

Thanks. I have always had good luck with JBL's. I am curious about anyone with results with Focal and Morel. I'll need to get a loan for the Morels if that option is taken. lol

Just remember, Most brands offer cheap sets for the likes of walmart /amazon. and the better sets/models , that sound worlds apart. JBL. are good. JL audio is another, Rockford fosgate.
infinity sets tend to be on the" bright" side with un natural boosted highs. but some like that, and older you are, the more you might want that depending on how shot your ears are.
Focal you have to be careful. their very high end units are awesome, but other lines of theirs are, um. riding on the shirt tails of the brand name.
Just remember it is a car, with speaker locations not ideal and no real cabinet, so many of the good sounding installs are also from other things done to the area around the speakers to help with the sound. Top of the line focals/morels are overkill in a car that the exhaust is loud and will blend in with the music.
Good luck, you sohuld be good as long as you don't buy the bottom line a brand offers.
The last speakers I bought, were for a mid 70's car and JBL GTo's 6x9's with seperate tweeters and cross overs, and JBL gto 3.5" for th dash. they sound good.
I have JL audio in the other car, and they sound great, but they were pricey .
My other vehicle has B/A pro 3 way seperates, that are twenty years old and going great. but I don't think Boston is a brand anymore, I think they got bought out and died a slow death.

Im using the GTO series of speakers for my 6.5's and the GX series for my 3.5's. I like the sound now for sure of the stock speakers. But im also not a true audio head.
